Very Dissapointing Today
It's just doesn't read well 5 years in for Buckley
There are too few positive moments and are not sustained for long enough. Three years of bad injuries is a separate theory and need to be acknowledged by the club. A change needs to happen. Just not good enough

The whole coaching panel need a serious review at end of 2016

We are aiming for a successful period but when? We keep being told to be patient? Until when

We have the best of facilities. Players are well paid
Motivation to succeed should be high as we have missed finals for a few years now.

We must implore the club to aim for better
This is just not good enough

28 disposals @ 78.6 efficiency (best, other than Smith's 81 and Sidey's 80).

His other 10 games must've been scintillating.
I disagree. This was just one of 3 or 4 games where he's been part of the problem, rather tha part of the solution. Lots of disposals but too few kicks and not enough damage done.
Agree, played a safe game, next to no defensive running. Just about the least impact he's had since he's been at the Pies.

Pendles played a poor game today, lots of errors.

Voss had a record similar to that, and 3 PREMIERSHIPS to go with it. At least Brisbane had the brains to sack him. Same with Hird, look how that turned out.

Records like this mean nothing when you cant coach.

McGuire is so far up Buckley's clacker, he cant sack him. They're a package deal.
I'd say you should keep sucking on the things you suck.Speaking of which,Brisbane were sucking on the teat of the AFL and were able to keep the same team for 5 years which encompassed 3 brownlow medal winners multiple All Australians most of the 2& 3 time premiership players and a full forward who was not only allowed to use a banned substance,he was encouraged to do so as it could"Improve his life style". Any other club would have to have divested 5 or 6 of these players to stay under the salary cap and if your mind can wonder that far back you'll recall that ,but for an atrocious goal umpiring decision and a free kick in the dying minutes of the match a Brisbane full forward who was allowed to take banned substances after missing the most blatant free kick not awarded to Chris Tarrant to put us 2 goals in front,Buckley would indeed have had a premiership medallion. But I digress .Go follow the lions .They deserve you.Bruce.
Even for you, this is an incoherent load of tripe.

It doesn't matter what Brisbane got or didn't get, or what frees were paid or weren't. Bottom lines is, he doesn't have a premiership medallion, and he never will.

The longer Eddie holds our club to ransom trying to get him one, the longer we'll be in this mess.

I daresay I've been watching us lose Grand Finals a lot longer than you have, and I still keep coming back, so don't tell me to follow someone else, <snip>

Poor defensive structures

Post by hawkus »

Port had a spare man (or two) hanging out the back for most of the game and we just weren't running back hard enough and manning them up.

I don't recall a point at any time in the game where they let a single one of our players free in the 50 however there were many examples of that in our defense where we let Port go unmanned. The break free from a stoppage and kick it over the back... bam easy goal every time.

It looked to me like Buckley was all about what can we do offensively when the problem was poor defense. The effort dropped from our players because they realised the system was shite.

How can we let players go unmanned in our defensive 50? Its just not good enough.

I think a lot of supporters are pathetic, not Buckely.

Buckley adapted, he swung Adams back, swung Howe back.

We beat Essendon after Buckley swung Adams back and Pendlebury seemingly got on top of his rib injury.

Adams missed the next 2 and we lost.

No shame in losing to Carlton as we have seen recently.

BTW - our side against Carlton was one of the weakest fielded.

Then we beat Brisbane, beat Geelong, and would have beat the Bulldogs, had it not been for the Adams injury 3 minutes into the 3rd qtr. Crocker injury. Fasolo injury and Moore injury and combined with the Toovey injury left our interchange bench absolutely BARE in the crucial 4th qtr when players are spent.

What did you expect this week missing our backline GENERAL and 2 LEADING GOALKICKERS on top of existing injuries. Some supporters here are way more pathetic than Buckley's efforts as coach.
Thanks for bringing some reality to the post. We were poor today, I travelled from Tas to see it, only game I will get to this year and I am bitterly disappointed but I am not taking the easy option of pointing the finger solely at the coach. He could have done better today but was far from our worst. I barrack for the Club, not just just team.

Port had Lobbe out - their first choice ruckman.
Ryder - an elite ruckman/forward.
Jonas - their second best defender.
Homsch - their best defender.
Schultz - their second best forward.
Monfries - their best crumbling forward.
White - their best runner.

It's time to stop using injuries as an excuse for a 10 goal loss to a side outside the 8.

The reality is we only had 4 best 22 players out in Swan (he is about to retire), Adams, Fasolo and Elliot. They had more best 22 players out than us.

OK, so its OK for Mudlark to call me Bruce, but not alright for me to call him a cretin???

I consider being called Bruce to be far more insulting than cretin.

Hear Hear.

They also forget that we dominated play for large parts of the game today- with a threadbare team playing against a team full of confidence fighting to keep their season alive.

Like last week- had we taken advantage of our forward entries- would've been a different game.

Enjoy your week

Port had more best 22 players out than Collingwood. Your injury excuse is invalid.

bullshit, he knew his arse was in a sling when Eddie came out and said the game plan needed to be changed the week before. and he had the boys play football instead of that zoning keepings off crap.
today we were back to not manning up, and the players obviously have little faith in it. they pretty soon lost interest, and energy.

so we lost 2 LEADING GOAL KICKERS!!!

omg so funny, we lost a 5.10 forward, and a young kid, and replaced them with an 800,000 a year full forward, some say the best in the competition! and we got nothin!

backline general? Reid was out there. what we needed was Marley to take Adams place, but he was in the seconds!
You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either!

No, only injuries to Collingwood players count.

Who the opposition has unavailable is irrelevant.

You watch the club go in full spin mode about injuries. And the fanbois will lap it up.
