After going to subi on sat night it brough to mind how footy has changed.
A lot of you will not have been around when the night footy was at Albert Park tues and thurs nights and every group took a slab or 2 with them and stood out in the cold winter evenings and had a ball.
It got me thinking when I saw a collingwood fan ejected from subi with 5 minutes to go in the game for barracking too loud,so 5 big tough guards threw him out.
In the good old days they would throw you out if you didnt barrack loudly.
It was part of being at the footy, the repartee between different camps, and of course the odd bit of biffo especially at windy hill.
With the demise of the local tradition ie windy hill, vic park, arden st,punt rd oval etc, footy has become too nice.
Bring back the good old days,I miss em
remember when?

Oh I do miss the great old days when COLLINGWOOD AND ESSENDON played each other at WINDY HILL OR VIC PARK.
These 2 great suburban grounds are the pinnicle of those grand old days of great suburban rough and tough warfare. It is what is was all about.
GOOD OLD COLLINGWOOD UNITED FOREVER AND EVER AMEN GOD BLESS THEM ALL
