I had the same thought, Jack. The really bright light tonight was Maynard. We really have a libe one, there. Wills was okay, but got outmarked several times, was fumbly when trying to take possession, and overall had less impact that he had in recent weeks.jackcass wrote:Was certainly quieter tonight but really we should expect some ebbs and flows. Thought Wills didn't impact as much this week either.

He'll be good, but he needs stamp that sort've game out quick smart. 10 possession games in 70 point wins aren't acceptable. Hardly saw him all night.
Just needs to learn how to consistently have an impact. Get him tagging Treloar at training for a while.
Bloke has the tools, just reading that Quayle article though he might still be too influenced by ticking the rules boxes rather than using his instincts.

yeah his instincts are great - still learning where to position himself for maximum return - seems to be at his best in heavy traffic and the suns game was a loose running sort of game that is probably not his forte.Invigoration wrote:He'll be good, but he needs stamp that sort've game out quick smart. 10 possession games in 70 point wins aren't acceptable. I don't want a side full of downhill skiers that boost their stats in 70 point wins.
Happy for others, less classy players, to run around and fill their boots in these sort of games
Whilst yes, he was quite obviously a bit quieter than in recent weeks, but everything he did was full of class.
He plays an outstanding game of team football every week regardless of how many times he touches it, simply down to his instinctive shepherding, clearing space for others, not flying for a mark when a teammate is in better position to do so, etc.

A bit quieter last night but I thought defensively he was very sound got into some contexts log enough for reinforcements to arrive. I don't see him as the 30 touch a game player I see him more in the 15-25 touches but all impacting touches like a Rioli and he can bag a few goals along the way is a bonus.
I think the biggest thing for all the young players to learn is the coaches give them a set of basic instructions on how to play the game call them parameters if you like the good players can do these things but then know when to go outside those parameters and be instinctive to play what they see. The parameters are there as guidelines like if you win the ball in position A look to position B as your first area to dispose the ball to then position C if B is unacheivable etc
He has class written all over him

Watch the replay again. It is amazing how many times he is in the shot. I agree with KM - the not flying for a speccie when your team mate has it, stopping an opponent's run, tapping the ball on, locking it in with head right over the ball. Add that to putting the ball in a better position most times he gets it.

Aosh is not the 1st Player to have a Poor Game after getting a Massive Write up in a Paper.Invigoration wrote:He'll be good, but he needs stamp that sort've game out quick smart. 10 possession games in 70 point wins aren't acceptable. Hardly saw him all night.

Had 5 Tackles and 4 Scoring Invlovments.
He still just 20 so he does have a Lot of Upside to his Game.
I think he get lot more Ball IF they actually give him Midfield minutes and not just on the Wing and Flanks
