#6 Brodie Holland

Post by Guest »

I don't know about you folks but can anybody see glimpes of robert harvey in Brodie Holland. Just the way he moves and reads the play.I 've been a huge fan of Brodie Holland "dutchy" "heinekin" since he has come to COLLINGWOOD. He really looks animated when we kinck a goal and really encourages the other youg guns such as Nick "all class" Davis and Tarks.
I can't speak high enough of Broadie and he will go very far in his footy and wish him all the best at COLLINGWOOD.

Yeah there were comparisons made at junior level between harvey and holland in terms of Hollands endurance. Brodie appears to be a classy player but is yet to play a game where he plays a good 4 quarters. Brodie normally plays one or two good quarters a match. We need him to step up a bit more i think.

Gee, Thanks. And we haven't even met.....

Seriously, though, the comparison with Harvey is WAY off mark (Harvey has great endurance, but Brodie has brilliant pace and is a greta long kick for goal).

Brodie shows great signs, though, and in tandem with Leon provides real spark in their bursts on the forward line. These guys are the type of player the 4-man interchange was built for.

Is it just me or does Brodie look like the dude out of American Pie.

Hey but seriously Holland and Clement have both been good pick ups. I would like to see Brodie put together four quarters of hard footy. I know he is put down to crumb Rocca, Molly and Talent, however I would like to see him lead more as he does lead well and has shown that he can take the odd good grab.

Brodie was a gun junior, and deserved to be taken as high as he was when Freo picked him up. He (like all our young guys) is still young, and I think he is still finding his way in league footy. He spent lots of time in the Westar competition, and had some injuries so we really need to give him time. I reckon he is getting more consistant as the season has gone on, and he was one of the only shining lights on Saturday night.
If he gets close to being as good as Harvey, we will have a star on our hands.

BTW, does anyone else reckon that brodie looks a bit like eric bana? maybe we can give him a new nickname - chopper (cos he chops up the opposition).

lol!
Remember when he kicked his goals in the game againist Freo?
Late in the 3rd term, when we were going crap, he ran into goal and slammed it through and procedded to pump up his team mates, then in the 4th Quarter to help seal it.

Didn't he love shoving it up his old club!

I've got alot of time for Dutchie. If he can have four reasonablly good quarters, he can be anything. He actually looks like a guy who used play for Collingwood, but his name escapes me. He played for Collingwood in the 90s - left Collingwood to play for the Swans - left the Swans and went back to Collingwood. He was a rover. Anyone got any ideas on what his name was? Please tell me, as I won't be able to sleep tonight Image
