Well maybe not a 'grudge', poor choice of words. Just a knowledge of how much of the kitty we can afford (Treloar/Swan/Pendles past deals etc) I'm guessing he just threw Geelong out there, to up the $takes.AN_Inkling wrote:Pickering is/was Treloar's manager last year.Rush Stand Wing wrote:Anyone else believe Pickering is harbouring a grudge with us ? i.e. Pendles contract stuff a couple of years ago. Wells will fit perfectly into our squad. In saying that it's not a done deal yet but I am one who feels he is worth the deal.

At the members forum Bucks made a point of mentioning that Wells was the comp's second best deliverer into the 50 behind Pendles in 2016.
I see this as a large part of why we'd recruit him. Not simply because we could do with the extra class but because we are reconfiguring our forward line and bombing simply won't work anymore. Having the two best forward 50 entrants in the comp makes a smaller more mobile forward line that bit more viable.

Well done boys!

Pickering may be a flog, but he's pretty good at getting his player to where they want to go. If we are Wells' preferred club, we'll get him.Rush Stand Wing wrote:Well maybe not a 'grudge', poor choice of words. I hold a cup of wisdom, but there is nothing within.

Trading week starts tomorrow right, I reckon this will be a done early one, I fully expect DTM to welcome him to the PIes on here, by early afternoon, at latest.

AFL.com.au description of Daniel Wells is interesting.....
"here's suggestions that Daniel Wells could announce his move to Collingwood as early as today.
The silly North midfielder is lily to depart Arden Street, and Geelong recruiting manager Stephen Wells confirmed before that it won't be to the Cats, so Collingwood it appears to be."
Professional.
