"Yesterday it came out that I will no longer be playing with the Kangaroos next year. I Just wanted to say that it weighs heavy on my heart that I have to leave this club that I literally grew up with. It's been an amazing 14 years with the Roos and the memories will remain forever. Just wanted to thank everyone that has been on my journey at the Roos and made an impact during my time there. It is an amazing club and I will be forever grateful for what they have done for me and my family. As I truly know it could never be repaid in full. Thank you to all the supporters and fans.. you have been amazing over the years and can't thank you all enough.

What are the chances that Cloke would do the same. Not a chance in hell.
" ... it came out"? And "I have to leave this club"? Very strange messages, those, in circumstances where I thought he didn't like the offer the Roos made and wanted to come to Collingwood.

It's nice that he thanked his (soon to be former) club but, then again, they didn't drop him three times for "team balance" during his last season.
You should take into account when footballers, club employees or AFL employees make public statements that they are footballers, club employees or AFL employees and apply a 50% logic discount. That is about all that can be expected. I would extend that to the football media as well.

As I said yesterday, apparently Wells is not happy with how Harvey, Dal Santo, Petrie and Firrito were treated and was worried he would be next. Hence, the "I have to leave this club."

Cloke wasn't dropped for team balance, he was dropped for playing rubbish. Team balance is the nice way of saying it. Travis should be thankful, as we paid him $800k in 2014, 2015 & 2016 and he didn't go close to providing value for money. If you want to argue with that, Dangefield is on $800k and look at his output v Cloke.

Patrick Keane reports: AFL advises Collingwood has made an offer to Unrestricted Free Agent Daniel Wells (Nth Melb).
Wells can join Collingwood immediately.

Cloke was dropped for the round 5 Anzac Day romp.

Cloke was clearly down on confidence needing a bag but arguably better than serviceable in rounds 3 and 4.

He was NOT playing rubbish.

The club was a mess following the hair testing fall-out and many of our leaders were stomping around like petulant princesses, looking for people to blame.

North get Pick 32 as compo WOW.

No way they will make an offer for Nathan Brown.

Welcome to Collingwood Daniel. Can never have enough players with skill and class.

Hope that his body holds up well.

A 3 year deal worth up to $1.8M with comp to North being only pick 32.

Based on reported dollars that seems low, so can only assume that the 3 year might well be heavily performance based.
