If Vickery is worth pick 26 and I would be correct in assuming his resume isn't anywhere that of Cloke's then one could fairly assume a pick in the mid to low 30's would be fair given Cloke is older but has a good reputation for not getting injured and missing so that counts in his favour.
Anything below pick 45-50 is IMO unacceptable.
If the dogs won't cough up something in the 30' or early 40's then we find someone who will simple.
Enough is enough he might want out badly but that's his issue not ours. Ours is to ensure we don't get reamed over it.
Tell Demir if travis wants to hand back half of his 2015 salary and all of his 2016 salary he can go for free because that's how long since he's really earned the money he's been paid form the club.

I would have thought that to play for the same money for 2 years rather than enforce the contract at Collingwood for 1 year is showing a strength of character.

What the doggies are willing to trade for him will never be known and even you know it's under his full worth.
Cloke is only worth one what clubs are prepared to trade / pay now. In the scale of things that is very little. I don't see too many clubs jumping in to offer him a better deal.

I cheered Travis off the ground at the end of his last game for the Pies. What I wanted was for him to embrace the current coaching staff and do everything possible to adapt to the game plan. Unfortunately for all concerned (and I mean all) this has not happened. Cloke has been well renumerated for his services but over the full length of his contract he has fallen short of providing full value for investment.

I will concede that calling him a spud is disrespectful and not acceptable when considering his success at times and the fact that he is a Pies premiership player. At the same time his efforts and success in recent years are disappointing and poor.

Unfortunately, the compensation Richmond gets for Vickery has nothing to do with how good or bad he is.
The formula takes into account the original draft pick that he went at in his draft year, which was pick 8. It then looks at the length and value of the contract his new club is offering, supposedly 2 years at $500k.
Thus, under the formula this equates to a 2nd round pick after Richmond's original 2nd round pick, which was 25, but they traded that pick last year as part of the multi-club complicated Charlie Dixon trade. Therefore, it is pick 26.
This is the same formula that netted us a first round pick when Daisy left for Carlton.

We aren't going to get a pick in the 30's or 40's for Travis, 59 is the best we are going to get, but likely to be lower.
Not saying Vickery is better, he is not good enough to carry Cloke's bags, but given Cloke's age, his poor form, that we want his salary off our books, that he wants to go to the Dogs and everything appears to point to us not wanting him, his value is deflated to what the Dogs are offering.

If there is one ounce of goodwill between Eddie and Peter Gordon they wouldn't do it.

I'm more worried about the Sydney teams.

Perhaps they wanted to avoid any animosity from supporters, similar to when Beams was advised not to attend the Copeland in 2014?
His hobby is collecting $5 notes. That says it all.

There was a thread on this about Seven reporting it as well. It was apparently Nathan Hrovat wasn't anything really in this. Just a player spotted there it seems.

Yep, it was Hrovat.

Just running laps. It's not clear if he was there on Collingwoods behalf, or just using the running track.

I dont think there's much in this tbh.

Collingwood remains hopeful of securing pick No.62 in exchange for key forward Travis Cloke, although the Western Bulldogs are understood to have suggested pick No.74 in initial discussions.

Both clubs are expected to wait for the trade period to play out a bit further before finalising the details.

Trav needs to remember who built him his house and paid for the Harley he has in it, along with all the other sh*t. Yes, the guy helped us win a Flag, but we would've paid him over $5m in his time at the pies, and have looked after him very well. Especially in the last deal... which was way too much, disrupted the team, & which we got v little back for.

He seems to have been brought up in an environment of self absorption, whilst his father - and now he - seem to have a negative view of anyone that doesn't pump up his tyres as much as his dad would like / expect.

Daniel wells, on the other hand, has been graceful in his exit from the kangas, whilst Travis has made comments about leaving to go to a winning culture, and taking a few pot shots at our coach. With maturity and time, I think he'll regret those comments... or at least should. In my eyes it'll def leave a blemish on his standing at the club.

And I seriously believe that he's delusional if he thinks he will recapture anything near the form of 5 years ago...

I had a discussion on that same topic last night but it was in relation to parents of children playing team sports. We had noticed over time that those parents that viewed their children's performances and value through rose colored glasses, and cared about their children's performances over the team's performances, produced children with the same attitudes. That ties in with what you have said.
