Just what our forward line needed - a bit of real experience to mentor the less experienced such as Fas, Moore, Elliott, Crocker, Cox, De Goey, even White (who can at times get a rush of blood to the head and make the occasional poor decision). I think Mayne will really help bring on our young players - an on field coach so to speak.

I've always been a fan of his, getting him for free is just the cherry on top.
2 million over 4 years is not free.
If he displaces Blair I will be happy.
But in 2016 he kicked about the same number of goals as Blair
That effort is not worth writing home about.
we don't eat our own at collingwood we just allow them to foul our nest.

Yeah - may have kicked same number as Blair - but objectively, the supply to the forward line at the Dockers had a lot less flow as reflected by their position on the ladder at the end of the season. Maybe there is room for Blair and Mayne - who knows what form and injuries may bring??

I will not complain and I wont refrain to explain this will not be in vain, for its plain to see the main man Mayne is not on the wane but will reign and be our gain with his curly insane mane, unlike the zany Dane ( what a shame)who is now off the chain and did not feign pain, and Mayne will be in a plane to abstain from Domain, to rain goals in the main and be the bane to all on the MCG plain, which is not in Spain but the mainland Australia.

Concerning yourself with player payments is about the most futile venture you can undertake as a fan.

He's on 500k, who cares? We obviously had the space. Who else would you prefer we use it on? This is the best way to make use of free agency.

Freo were the 3rd lowest scoring team in the league too just for what it's worth.

It was amazing how many Cloke bashers sighted his 450k for 2017 as a good reason for getting rid of him.
Frees up the salary cap.
Mayne is a B grade player.
He is a handy player and that is it.
