So you don't actually think, that 6 months' pre season and numerous training and bonding sessions will see this play out as any normal thinking person would see it??? I just see this as another whinge by another person who wouldn't be happy no matter what we did.Rush Stand Wing wrote:I'm not sure if I'm comfortable with a new bloke taking the kick-in's. When you factor into this deal, the 'potential' they may bond well together in the back pocket based from their past playing days, it sounds practical

Not at all. I'm actually quite optimistic. I just think Howe's kick-in ability has been hard to beat...admittedly compared to a guy I don't know little about. So he can kick long and accurate but does he have the ability and confidence to hit shorter moving targets? Does he have the touch for a big bloke? I'll calm down and trust the process but just highlighting a concern about a new player kicking-in. Wells is quite experienced at it and gives us another option too but he is elitemudlark wrote:So you don't actually think, that 6 months' pre season and numerous training and bonding sessions will see this play out as any normal thinking person would see it??? No problem at all, cheers.mudlark wrote:Hey Inky.. I hope you don't mind but I have plagiarised your post on my face book page.I copied and Pasted the Players names and ages to point out to a dickhead ,what was ACTUALLY happening with our trades. If it's a drama I will take it down, but it got quite a few likes.AN_Inkling wrote:Something that I find interesting and I've been noticing it for a while: when we lose players we attempt to replace them with those of a similar age profile, to keep the balance, especially with older players as we have so few. I think when you look at our mooted changes in this way they seem quite a bit more positive:
Cloke (29) --> Dunn (29) - I'd back Dunn as the more useful modern footballer
Brown (27) --> Mayne (27) - Mayne, to me, is likely to be much more effective
Swan (32) --> Wells (31) - very different types, but Wells will offer us plenty
There are those who are confused by our strategy, but to me it's a simple matter of replacing lost experience with better suited, and in some cases cheaper, options. Looking at those changes, I am very comfortable with the players we've targeted so far. Going younger would not have been a positive move and in some cases, like free agents, was actually not an option.
Well done boys!

Yep, looks like (it ought to be) the go.Culprit wrote:That is the way I see it as well.mooretreloar wrote:Think 44 is too high, talk the Dees need to free up salary cap to fit Lewis and Hibberd in, so think like us with Cloke they will accept a 4th rounder. I am half expecting the Pick 44 we look like getting for Witts be the Pick we Trade
Dunn to us
Cloke to Dogs
Pick from Dogs to Dees.

I have a recollection that he may have commenced his career as a forward, or at lest spent a bit of time there early on.mike2010 wrote:Looks like he can swing forward too

He played most of his footy forward - usually CHF.5 from the wing on debut wrote:I have a recollection that he may have commenced his career as a forward, or at lest spent a bit of time there early on.mike2010 wrote:Looks like he can swing forward too

He was poor, but it may have been more about the side and environment.
Had some standout games at FB where he would out mark and take off, looking dominant.
Our FF CHF CHB FB stocks are super low, whilst the rest of the side oozes class.
Don't know what the hell we are doing or what it means.
A lot of faith in Moore/White/Cox or playing a brand new style of football.

Okay - Has our anus stopped haemorrhaging yet from the the utterly idiot price we just paid for this unwanted Melbourne reserves player?piedys wrote:DUNN DEAL IS A DONE DEAL
