#27 Kayle Kirby

Post by Jezza »

Welcome to the club!
Selection No. 50 Kayle Kirby

Position: Small forward
Height: 181cm
Weight: 96kg
Born: 31/8/1998
Recruited from: Bendigo U18

What they say

Kayle is an excitement machine Just a ripper. A Byron Pickett-clone with Cyril Rioli-type tricks. Hes got some real x-factor, deadly accurate around goals, dangerous whenever he gets the ball, is physically intimidating and I think his speed is right up there with the best. Just got a big bag of tricks and he can used all of them in the one day. Small forward-type who could pinch-hit in the middle but hes only been playing football for three or four years so the upside is enormous. Fitness is the area of concern but if he was to get that right I think he could have an influence in senior football next year, Bendigo Pioneers coach Brett Henderson, Inside Football, November 2016.

Derek Hine on Kayle Kirby:
"Kayle is coming from a little bit behind but he brings that high-end speed and physicality to our front half. It will be interesting to see how he goes. We're in the futures market so he'll be OK I'm sure."

This is a genuine surprise selection isn't it? Speculative perhaps. Don't mean to sell KK short.

It's pick 50. No one ever knows who's going to get taken that late. He's a player with great skill, but is definitely a project player. Definite upside and decent bust potential, just what you want at pick 50.

WTF is a kayle kirby? I hate kayle, it's proof marketing is stronger than taste buds.

Detail on this boy please.
Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down.

Hope the Tiggers weren't counting on him to replace Yarran!

Yeah, with picks ranked in the 20's still available, not sure we needed to be quite so speculative :-/

A Byron Pickett type with Cyril Rioli type tricks acc to his coach - of course without placing to much pressure on the kid!

A very likely type. Powerful and skilful, a great combination. We needed more flair on our list and Kirby definitely provides.

Based simply on fox rankings! We picked players that weren't even ranked!

So I have a rationale... what are you basing your optimism on?
