Thanks for the positive replies everyone.
I agree that they need a forum too. I also like the suggestion that they be merged together in one forum, but wouldn't be completely opposed to a Netball forum going into the suggested Nicks Sports Bar section.
I find that it is the Australians with a European background that get bothered by it. I honestly dont care, but some just hate the term "Soccer". And I live in the UK and trust me, the people here dont care if you called it Soccer. They are more fascinated that we call "Crisps" chips and an adjustable wrench a shifter.
I honestly think it's a silly argument that happens, especially since our national team is called the Socceroos.
I'd hate to think how many dislikes I'd have gotten over the years.
Thanks again everyone. (And thanks Mods for taking it on board).
I like Hal. Maybe he needs a new profile pic to freshen him up a little? Or a "Reboot" as they say these days.inxs88 wrote:We get rid of Hal!
Yes. I totally forgot about the new Womens team and new Netball team.Bucks5 wrote:A new separate forum for the women's competition wouldn't hurt either.

I don't get it either. Some just hate that western countries (US, Canada, Australia, NZ, etc) use the term Soccer, instead of Football. In Europe and South America it's called Football. But they know what you're talking about when you say Soccer. And the people that live there dont get offended.think positive wrote:Tell me though, why do people get offended by the term soccer?

I know. But it's been on my mind for a while. My first Saturday free for some time and I thought it was a good chance to bring it up in the offseason.Steve wrote:who does all this work?
Wouldn't mind a "like" button. Don't know if we'd really need a "dislike" button. But as the mods have said, we might not be able to use them.skaman wrote:Is it possible to have a likes/dislikes button for all replies.

AS Stui suggested, dunno what the hell happened to his thread on this, but as he says, give the Glass Half Empties their own section to vent and whinge all they like on Bucks and Ed, to vent their spleens all they wish too, I faithfully promise never to go on that thread, keep my distance, and never argue and debate them again on there, let them have their own room . And give the rest of us a break. !

and Would stop the Mods <snip> about the Quote Rulethink positive wrote:That's a great idea. I think we have all said "where's the like button" in the past. Saves all the plus one posts. And that one is surely pretty easy to code in?skaman wrote:Is it possible to have a likes/dislikes button for all replies. It would stop a lot of the "polls" and give the reader an indication how strong his/her point is, resulting in more feedback and discussion?

It would be better for the General Threads as people can get it off there Chest.
But Mods would not like Negative Posts

There is literally no prohibition on being negative in your posts. Stop being ridiculous.
What the moderating team objects to (and reserves the right to take action against) is being negative to incite reaction for the sheer damn heck of it. It's an important distinction.

The matter was previously under consideration, but it is currently now under active consideration...Presti35 wrote:Any news mods?
