Things that make you go.......WTF?

As a white male grappling with depression, age-prejudice, illness, and much besides, I admit to being terrified of evil young women posting pictures of their cupcake stands on social media. It really is my first priority that they be crushed. How could we allow such people to co-exist in a civilised world?

I presume the sarcasm in the above is trying to imply that (a) this is not really wicked because it does not have power ; and (b) that I advocate "crushing" it.Pies4shaw wrote:As a white male grappling with depression, age-prejudice, illness, and much besides, I admit to being terrified of evil young women posting pictures of their cupcake stands on social media. There are no doubt nasty little men in front of computers at this very minute who think that Jews should be charged more money for services, for some imagined privilege. They too are expressing an evil sentiment, though they have no power. Nor, of course, should they be "crushed", though interestingly, under our present laws they probably would be prosecuted for displaying a sign like that in public.

It's strange whatever it isWhat'sinaname wrote:it's sexist is what it is.swoop42 wrote:The deletion of Think Positives inaugural Nick's posting XXII thread.
Seems a totally bizarre and wholly unnecessary decision.
Maybe I should be embarrassed most of the sexist jokes were made by me!
(I'm not! It's called a sense of humour, and I've said far far worse in the men's thread! Hell me and Jim beam have said it in the game Day thread!)

I went around top see a couple of the Exec Assistants this arvo. As i walked around, one said to another "The womans one goes down"think positive wrote:Can I say watching this match, that we, um, suck!
I stopped and said "pardon me?" ( I saw her computer screen over her shoulder, she had a google search screen of the male/female symbol/logo thingos)
She looked at me, blushed a little, and told me that i hadn't heard anything, I didn't hear anything and there was nothing to hear.
i can do what i'm told.

^ I asked for it to be deleted swoop - didn't realise ( until your post) that it is actually illegal to have handcuffs and that customs would say " thanks we will have them and charge you with.."
The wish list was international and purchasing and possessing handcuffs is not illegal in many countries but we are not one of those countries
I'll concentrate on seeing if I can get some torches donated - maybe I can get a company to match 1 for 1 what we buy.

Well that is what I always thought but with the website ending in an .au I thought it may no longer be the case.Morrigu wrote:^ I asked for it to be deleted swoop - didn't realise ( until your post) that it is actually illegal to have handcuffs and that customs would say " thanks we will have them and charge you with.."

It's kind of a strange item to be illegal in some way.
Bit of a bummer as I actually considered buying some handcuffs for myself.
Why, who knows, but I take it from your post they have to be imported and the Aussie websites you linked to don't stock them?

^ well from what I have read ( now) it seems that unless you are in law enforcement or hold a security license, then you can't own genuine handcuffs.
They are a prohibited weapon in Australia and they will be seized by customs - you can only possess handcuffs that can be released by the wearer without a key - which sort of defeats the purpose ( unless it's for a bit of slap and tickle of course )
