Things didn't look too good when we lost on Friday night, but after the last two days of footy, things are not as bad as they could have been, with losses to the Bulldogs, Geelong, Adelaide and the Kangaroos. Fremantle's win is, well good for everyone, I guess especially against the Dorks. Well, another bit of good news was yesterday's report of Lloyd (should get 2 weeks) which could mean he will miss the round 21 game. And although it is sad to see champion players go down, Hird got injured as well, and now we are real chances to defeat Essendon, and maybe make the finals for the first time since 1994.

Essendon could be missing half of there team and they would beat us the way we have been playing recently. I know we beat Freo but for 3 and a half quarters we were terrible. Against Bichmond on Friday night we were again terrible and looked like we have run out of puff for the season. I don't like to be pessimistic but I don't like our chances of winning another game for the rest of the season. This judgement is purely on current form as we were great earlier in the season. We have lost that desire to win.

Our form has certainly been down since Adelaide, but it wouldn't take much to turn it around - it is possible. We've just got to start getting some centre clearances again and start kicking straight. Our game against the Doggies earlier in the year was the start of some good form (albeit, with some bad patches) and hopefully the same will happen again. It's not too late!!!
Fortunately, we're still in the hunt because the other teams around us keep losing too. But as Nathan Buckley said yesterday (he was commentating on ABC radio, for the game between Ess and Carl) we really don't deserve to make it currently and it's a waste if we make it just because other teams have faltered too, cos we'll be booted out quick smart first week of the finals. He was pretty honest and said we have to lift our game otherwise we shouldn't be there anyway.
