OUr history is appalling against the scum when it comes to matches that really matters, 1 GF win and those losses in the 70's give me nightmares. The smug bastards. I dream of the day we meet them in the GF and win because of a dodgy free kick on the siren. OMG as a kid I will never forget when we lost in 79 and my so called friend followed me home everyday from school giving it to me, like it was my fault we lost. I hate them.
May the seeds of hope bloom into the eurphoria of success. Go Pies

I carried the weight of those GF loses too. It's weird, but one of the worst losses in my lifetime, for me at least, was the 100th anniversary in 1992. We were much better than Carlton that year, but I sat in the stands of the 'G' and had to sit through those flogs ruining our anniversary.
Perversely, it was also the game that convinced me that a night Grand Final would be awesome.

^One of my silly cousins is a one eyed Bluescum fan, loves bragging on Facebook after a rare win by them, he was the only one of our whole tribe who strayed from the Pies to the scum, can be a real smartarse too. Think I may well stir him up on Facebook post game, assuming we can pulverise these turds once and for all, and square the ledger. !!

I'm the same. Just hate them with a burning passion!Piesnchess wrote:I still think of the shattering GF losses of 70 79 81 to these mongrels at least once a month, maybe more, it still rankles me. I hate and despise the fiends with every inch of my being, I utterly loathe them and their moron fan base. I hope we pulverise them this week, and congrats to old MM for buggering them up for his tenure there, resulting in the fact the pricks now have two more wooden spoons than us, for NO flags. LOL

We'll get there.Jezza wrote:They ruined our anniversary again!
Now, we're five wins away from beating them more than they've beaten us.
We were around 20 wins behind them when I started following this.
Too bad we dont get another crack at them this year. But we'll catch them.

I'm actually over this, now. It used to matter to me but it's getting hard to take anything Collingwood does seriously.
Apart from finals, there are 2 games (at most) in which it was non-negotiable for Collingwood turn up to play: Carlton at the MCG and Carlton at the MCG.
The last couple of seasons was our chance to even the ledger against them - but we let them beat us twice while they were actually hopeless. Now, they look to be playing a brand of almost-competent football with some reasonable up-and-coming talent - and we patently can't make the effort to stand up in the one remaining "traditional" game, so I think we're on the brink of a new era of embarrassing spankings from them.
