Incident in Manchester UK

Post by sixpoints »

https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/liv ... on-england

Two, perhaps three bombs detonated near the foyer exit area of the Manchester Arena following a concert overnight. Reports to date have 19 killed and over 60 injured. This is terrible. Damn it, those poor people.

Yes, truly heartbreaking.

Surprised to have read a report this morning from a concert goer saying there was no security, just checked tickets & that's it. In this day & age (unfortunately) any large gathering should have security & bag checks.

(Sorry, can't remember where I read it)

Bloody horrific!!

I heard a young girl who was there on the radio who said their bags were searched but no security pat down

The audience was mainly kids - what can you say - RIP and sincere condolences seems fairly useless

From my understanding the bomb was exploded in the public area outside the foyer when the crowd was exiting the venue.

At the MCG they check the bags but nothing is stopping individuals from doing whatever in the walkways surrounding the MCG.

After a game that attracts a big crowd at the MCG there are quite a few bottlenecks around the venue and at Richmond station that make us all very vulnerable to this type of attack.

Richmond Station after the Game would be a Perfect place for attack like that

Can you provide the evidence now that the perpetrators were not from the UK?

* Remember 7/7 in the UK was from UK born terrorists

* The murder of the army guy in London was from a convert with Caribbean background.

I'm sure Scotland yard would be most interested in your information.

The UK anti terror cops are still waiting for your privileged information Skids as you seem to know at the time of your posting just who the perpetrators are?

But Skids is assured at the at the time of his posting the perpetrators were not home grown because he posts "we keep letting them in"....

I prefer to wait to learn what an assessment of the situation tells us than speculate & finger point at this early point in time.

Islamic State supporters celebrated on social media on Tuesday after a blast at a concert venue in the north of England killed at least 19 people, although the militant Islamist group has not formally claimed responsibility.Supporters posted messages encouraging each other to carry out "lone wolf" attacks in the West and shared Islamic State videos threatening the United States and Europe.

One user said he hoped Islamic State was responsible for the attack, although no claim has appeared on any of the militant's group's official social media channels.

"We hope that the perpetrator is one of the soldiers of the caliphate," he wrote on a channel affiliated to the group hosted by messaging network Telegram
