What on earth was the Liberal Party doing inviting her to speak at their fundraiser? What message does that send to gay party supporters and representatives like Tim Wilson and Dean Smith?
I guess it shows that ultra-conservative types like Eric Abetz and Kevin Andrews still exert a lot of power within the organisation.

Freedom of Speech Part 2: Margaret Court and gay rights

They were stirring up rubbish for the sake of it. If they can get enough outraged people to turn up and hurl abuse, the conservatives can whine about "free speech", as if it might be something that mattered to them.
Anyway, they don't really want gay people in their party, any more than they want poor people in their clubs - they'd just like to trick some of them into giving the LNP their votes.

Interestingly held at a men-only club, inviting a woman who's against same sex marriage to speak.
Some psychiatrists could have a field day with that.
