Anthony Rocca

Post by MargOZ »

I just wanted to say that I thought Anthony Rocca did a fantastic job yesterday. He rucked tirelessly, constantly chased, lead well, marked fantastically and kicked 3 great goals.

I think he gets a lot of unjustified bagging but he proved yesterday just how vital he is to both our team and our future if we are to be a consistent top 6 side.

WELL DONE PEBBLES you're a champion!

GO PIES!

Anthony, great game, you really stood up yesterday when it was needed. You played a great senior role and it was a pleasure to watch.

It was great to see most of the players stand up. D9, that was a great tough game. Ryan - you are back! Benny Kinnear, solid effort, Chad good to see you putting in the tough game and as for Burnsie....we have missed you!!!! I could go on, but I won't.

For all the knockers over the past few weeks, we are back with passion, pride and confidence!

Fantastic game today by Ant! Played very well, and kept running even when he was tired. Keep it up.

Sorry guys but I can see a chance to post this so I will.

Every body who wanted to trade Rocca for Everitt would be eating their words.

I'am with you ash, I cant believe the Rocca for Everitt theory has been given this much credence...Finally Rocca is showing a bit and supporters wanna throw his hat in the ring as trade bait...No Way...!!!

Go Rocca...

Dermott Brereshit is the biggest dickhead in all of the free world. He talks thru his ass, he was claiming on MMM that Pebbles was absolutely stuffed in the first 15 minutes and could not get off the ground in the ruck contest. Pebbles was eating up Darcy with absolute ease. aka the previous stash with the Puppies.
I hope Dermies stays as Chanel 7, where he belongs.

Clemo, I agree with the Dermie comment in general. He is the master of stating the obvious and he does give it to Ant constantly.

Unfortunately there is substance to the points about Rocca'a aerobic capacity. At about the 20 min. mark he was stuffed. He had a shot for goal from 40 and fatigue got him and he fluffed it. I was very impressed with the way he fought on though. He had a rest in the forward line and recovered at 1/4 time. He played out the game and gave his all for the whole match. If he does that all the time he will be awesome. If he keeps that intensity up he will also get fitter.
