Vale Tom Petty

Post by Pies4shaw »

News reports are coming in that Tom has passed away, aged 66. It's a long time ago, now, but Damn the Torpedoes was one of the great records of its era. Refugee, Here Comes My Girl, Even the Losers, Shadow of a Doubt, You Tell Me etc. All brilliant songs. He was also a member of the Travelling Wilburys with Roy, George and Bob.

A great song, Culprit - with one of Mike Campbell's most powerful solos to take it out.

Might be jumping the gun slightly.. Was reported to have died, then updated to heart attack & unconscious & critical condition & "clinging to life". Apparently has a DNR order.

^ Well, I truly hope so - the LAPD obviously went too early with this.

Tom's death has been confirmed by his manager

66 is just so young, but how many of us will get to 66 and not feel we've sold our lives short?

Let's not forget Stop Draggin' My Heart Around with Stevie Nicks. Cracker of a tune and a proper duet, unlike all the "ft" BS that passes for music in 2017.

Heartbreaking news.
How would Siri know when to answer "Hey Siri" unless it is listening in to everything you say?

My daughter has been cracking Gags about Tom Petty, I asked her to stop. She replied "I won't back down".

Nice Obit.

Him and Dylan could be vocal twins.
