Hang on... NOT twice the limit, in fact, up to only a few years ago the limit was 0.08, so he's only just over that.

That's probably only 4 or 5 beers, not the smartest thing to drive but, just because someone can kick a leather ball doesn't make them super intelligent does it?! In reality I could drive better than half the clowns on the road with a BAC of 0.1... it's a stupid limit anyway.

A minor indiscretion, he's training the house down isn't he?

You don't trade a #5 draft pick who's still young and showing plenty of potential.

What's with this alcohol culture? Why does an elite athlete (which he'll surely become) drink alcohol at this time of year? Imagine if he'd had an accident and injured someone, or worse. What sort of mindset is this? He should be fined and suspended for a few weeks. It worked with Stevie J in 2007. Ok, De Goey was suspended last year but it was for something different. Someone at Collingwood or retained by Collingwood needs to counsel De Goey to get his head and mind right. This behavior is unacceptable.

Reality is he won't be the last person done for .05. Under New Vic laws he will have to have an interlock device fitted when he get's his licence back. He cops a bigger penalty than you and I as he is in the spotlight.
Exactly Culprit!

I got done for 0.074 last year, felt fine. $600 and 4 points (1st offence in WA you don't lose it unless over 0.08 ).

Skids, in Victoria, .05 and over you are done. Now even first offence you have to have an interlock device fitted. Out of pocket above the fine is the installation cost, monthly service cost and then a removal cost. He is going to feel the pain more than what expired last year. I hope the club forces him to use public transport and actually walk everywhere.

0.095 is high range, with the possibility of a gaol sentence.

From a player who screwed the pooch majorly last year, and hasn't done very much in the years he has been here

If you wonder why there's a culture of 'I can do what I want' with the young players (and older club officials), look no further than some of the comments on this thread

It's certainly disappointing as he is developing a pattern of unprofessional behaviour. He is still young and has the time to recognise his poor decision-making and grasp the enormous opportunities presented for him at a club like Collingwood. It's not a career ending moment, and after all, we are still in the off-season, but it does suggest he has still not understood what he needs to do to become the elite player we all know he could become. I still think he needs our support. Some people take longer than others to grow up. You'd think he'd just about be on his last chance now. Let's hope he recognises that and puts his arsse up and head down and works his butt off and has a terrific season.

"I won't let you down" - Jordan De Goey on the day he was drafted.

I worry about the direction he's heading in. Two off-seasons in a row where he's been involved in an off-field discretion, and what's most annoying is that he has all the talent in the world to become an A-grader, but these undisciplined acts is what will hold him back.

I suppose he notified the club right away based on their statement unlike last year when he was found to be lying to them about a pub fight he was involved in.
