The match day thread is for unfiltered BS knee jerk reactions. The time for level headed comment comes after.

People think I'm a negative hater.

But I don't need to prove my Collingwood credentials, but let's just say they are skin deep, if you catch my drift.

This is freakin' painful!!!

I actually supported Bucks up until last season. But even I knew when to say when.

I've been to the member forums. I've asked Bucks questions on the microphone.

This is just sh!t.

I mean c'mon. No Scharenberg all pre season? WTF? No Brown or Daicos to crumb Cox I50? Smith is in our future plans? Really?

Maynard back to defence? The fumbly 'elite' Crisp inside D50???

Is Bucks taking the piss???

I loved the man as a player, supported him as a coach, and even smirked a satisfying smile when he reappointed cos that romance of him finally succeeding is still on me. But no more. He, Eddie and Hine must go.

Oh, I'm sorry, after tonight's performance I'll make a chicken wishbone wish and hope like hell that we're going to defeat the top 4 teams of last season, plus Essendon on ANZAC Day, who just beat Adelaide last night.

What part of pre season and tonight's game rings false with ANYTHING I've typed on this forum to date. I pretty much watch EVERY game of every team every week. This sh!t ain't fun to write.
Yes Raw Hammer ....you have articulated the same issues for a number of years now.
And guess what???...you were completely right... but others think otherwise.
Maybe they should look more at the scoreboard.
If you knew anything about the history of Collingwood, you would know that we have rarely won against the Hawks in recent times. We just don't handle their game style of short, precision kicking very well. I just don't think it's time yet to get one's knickers in a knot. I have optimism (yes, that word!) that we'll have better games than this.

Actually, I appreciated this more lengthy explanation of your position Raw Hammer. Thanks.
I just get tired of your continual, one sentence negative remarks, but this I can identify with.

Nope, 43 games to go.

Neither of those megalomaniac bastards will do the right thing and walk.

I don't see it as megalomania - more of a refusal to give in or to give up.

Penldes looks like a player who knows he has played his last final.

What an absolute wast of one of our greatest ever players.

Hawthorn matched us in the contested ball area with both sides finishing with 167.

We were always going to be in trouble if they did this as this is meant to be our strength and the type of football we wish to play.

We seemingly lost to them the same way we have for the last 7 years with not enough pressure on the ball carrier

They won the uncontested by 35 and that's game over I'm afraid with their ball use ability and forward line.

I am going to wait a little longer before I make a definitive judgement. I think that the main reason we lost so insipidly tonight was our total failure to apply pressure, both on the man and the contested ball. This was our strength last year. The pressure applied across our midfield on the opposition was pathetic, and not at the requisite standard for an AFL team. We seemed to lack the vision/planning/anticipation to be at the ball when it went to ground, and often when we were there, our tackles were embarrassingly brushed aside.
Our kicking skills were also poor, but in my view this was not the major reason that we lost.
What is the reason for this total lack of intensity? Compared to the games I have watched thus far in Round 1, our lack of intensity is a real outlier. I find it inexplicable... and it is not attributable to lack of key personnel. That is why I will withold judgement until next round... could just be a need to adjust to the intensity and pressure of AFL standard football...
