My perspective - not replacing Reid with a taller option was a poor choice and so whether ready or not, McLarty was the x factor option - the old saying about talls was evident as the taller backs of GWS were able to dominate our shorter forwards as fatigue set in later in the 3rd and last quarters - although some piss poor delivery from down the field did not help - fancy sitting it on a short players head when they are giving away inches in height. Secondly, not contesting when there is even the remotest chance of disrupting an oppositions marking attempt it just poor - Langdon watches too many opposition players mark when he is standing next too them - and he has a few mates in the forward line who occasionally do the same - for goodness sake at least put some effort into the contest. Third - poor disposal - the sad thing is the poorest of disposal seems to occur when there is the least pressure on to deliver accurately - that is a lack of concentration and needs to be eradicated. Fourth - poor decisions of where to kick the ball into the forward line - heading for the deepest sections of the pockets making kicking a goal almost impossible is not smart football - coaching needs to address this and if the problems is that is where the players are leading i refer to my point about coaching needing to address this. Now - one factor out of our control - those maggots adjudicating the game made some fundamental mistakes at times that really hurt us - they were generally pretty good but when they were bad they were rotten. And what of our injury management - is Moore a victim of having to play him in so many different roles with so much expectation of him to perform? He is still a kid and is still growing thus the strength in his body needs to be kept up to that growth. If we don't look after him now we won't have him in 2 years time. My old man used to train horses and he used to nurture the yearlings, 2 and 3 year olds through each training and racing season - just enough to keep them educated and allow for their bodies and systems to develop without killing the poor buggers. Once they were 4 or 5 they were as strong as they could be and never suffered injuries unlike many of the discarded 2, 3 and 4 year olds that were flogged as if seasoned racing veterans. Sure, some horses could take it but alot couldn't - maybe we need to take same approach with Moore - play for a few games - rest - strengthen in the gym - play again, at least until we know what best works for him. I was buoyed by yesterdays effort - but it could have been so much better. One last thing - goal kicking coaching - both AFL and VFL teams seem to be having problems - who the hell is coaching them? Thomas kicked a point yesterday in exactly the same way as last week - walking towards the points on his run up - someone has to fix that.

1. Bucks is a terrific coach, who always gets his team to give their all, and once again was able to manufacture a gameplan and structure to take on the best in the AFL, despite our absense of a host of top players, particularly forwards.

2. Our players are 100 % invested in Bucks' coaching and methods.

3. We have a lot of goers, but not enough A grade players on our list.

As a result of all that, I don't think Bucks should be judged on where we finish on the ladder. He should be judged, solely on how he coaches the cattle at his disposal.

My worry now is that both Reid and Moore look fragile and Treloar seemed to be playing under severe duress.

Id just like to see how Bucks would have gone during a season, if , IF he had a fully fit list, NO injuries, and was able to pick our best 22, and get them on the park ? He has NEVER had that luxury, not once, and I cannot recall when we last had a fit list, aka Richmond now have. I just wonder how he would have gone, with a fit list, Sadly, for him, I don't think he will ever get that chance, as I cannot see hm surviving past this year if we don't leap up the ladder. That's the way it is I guess, as Elvis used to say.
