That's the worse 38-disposal game I've seen since whenever I last saw Tom Mitchell do it. Phillips is a complete liability.

Oh, that's why he got the third-highest ranking for the team.

The most contested possessions (11) in the team and 68.4 D/E. Bit harsh mate.

I am proud of the boys given the circumstances. They are in red hot form, with all everything going for them including injuries (the lack of them). Great effort, I am hopeful for the future - this test of steel will hold them good.

Not a bad game, fell away at the end.
1- Mayne will never play in the Seniors again.
2 - I hope the injuries are not too bad.
3 - We live to fight another day.

The fade out was probably predictable given Anzac Day and the injuries certainly didn't help. We're not going to win every game this year so as long as we can keep up the application and effort in our next game we still could be in for a good year.

Beaten by are far more accomplished football team today. They are a serious side. They work you over for 3qtrs then crush you in the last. Been doing that all season pretty much. We were valiant but just did not have the fitness or experience to keep going to the end. Obviously games like these expose a few players as being not up the the highest level and a couple of inclusions for this game just simply were baffling and absolutely cost us, their input was a net negative.

De Goey was quiet, not sure why, was he tagged? Our defenders, Howe, Scharenberg, Dunn, Murray, Maynard were all excellent but just couldn't hold the flood back once our midfield was beaten our backline just couldn't cope.

Best game for the club from Scharenberg I reckon. He was a rock back there. WHE looked good, Brown made a few blues but for a young guy I think he is getting better. Treloar, Pendles & Grundy were as usual fantastic but just didn't have enough support. Let's write this off as a loss due to a 3 day break against the best side in the comp, we were only a few goals down early in the last and got blown away a bit late, but overall I'm giving this a tick, as long as we butter up with a win next week.

don't agree. He provided a lot of link and hard running. Nearly got a vote from me. Thought he was great. i reckon his spot in the side is pretty safe at the minute.

Plenty of lessons to be learnt from that game, quite a few lowered their colours but they got a good look at how its done.

My mind goes back to the Pies Hawks game in about August 2011...we all know how that team turned out

Oh and BTW, how much of an armchair ride did they get from the umps? Had to be worth 3-4 goals in and of itself

As I said in the buckley thread.
Bux played it safe by going with two plodders in Mayne and Blair.
And what did we get but two plodding performances.
If you are going to beat the Tigers then you need to throw
caution to the wind zantiand play Faz and Wells.
But Bux is predictable and he goes the safe route.
We are now 2 and 3.
Ordinary start to the year.
Impressed with a lot of the young player group.
We have a decent core there and we must persist.
But please be bold like we have with our quick handballs forward.

a lot to like about that performance. 4 day break compared to their 5 told in the end aa well aa thir more seasoned siide. we can take maasive confidence fro being able to compete on level terms with them and pwrhaps get the upper hand next times we play. weve got a few to add to our mix as well. Moore Elliott Wells and Varcoe to name a few. definitely on the right track
