Considering his history with injuries, Paddy would probably give Collingwood as much as you said we could pick him up for JLC....virtually nothing.

You can forget the one about Nick Stevens.
Collingwood tried to swap him for Scotty Burns at the end of last year and they threw a wad of money at him, but he re-signed a three year deal with Port because he wanted to stay loyal and he saw a big future for the club.
Ask not for whom the bell tolls, it tolls for thee. It was the tuna casserole

H & H,
I can sympathise with your sentiment, but, personally, I am now inpatient. We have great talent in our young list but we must have success very soon. It has been too long and we should stive for the ultimate glory. It is imperative, given our recent history, that CFC does everything within its power to finish top 4 next year and win finals. That must be the absolute minimum requirement. I understand and even agree with the philosophy of building a sustainable list and playing culture. But the the two are not mutually exclusive.
In order to finish top 4 and win finals we will need to recruit. Our deficiancies must be addressed over summer - no excuses. Our no.1 deficiency (my opinion) is a ruckman. No2. is a CHB or FB of quality.
I will be dissapointed if we get (only) young promising players because we already have them. We must find, chase and secure quality. We have fringe players now that are tradable comodoties whereas in the past if you couldn't get a regular game at CFC you were (correctly) not considered senior material. That is not the case now. We can afford to trade players and, given our youth, draft choices for the RIGHT player.
