- This match will act as an off-Broadway fixture to the senior side's clash against Carlton at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Those wishing to attend both matches will have over an hour between games to get from the sparse surrounds of Olympic Park Oval to the more comfortable environment of the MCG.
- This match was originally ambiguous in its fixturing when the draw was released during the summer. Originally, there was a provisional option to play the game at the MCG as a true curtain-raiser, but plans for that were quietly scrapped during the pre-season. As it turns out, the Vic Metro and Vic Country NAB Under-18 teams will be playing on the MCG in that same curtain-raiser timeslot this Sunday, while Collingwood and Carlton's reserve sides will have to make do with Olympic Park.
