Basically we have a group of people who can't fathom that the world no longer revolves around straight white males.

Basically it's the mindset that lead Trump to become President and Dutton to challenge Turnbull.

While I do believe educated middle class women of any ethnicity in this country have more advantages than the poor of any gender and a disadvantaged woman has greater opportunity to marry up than a man in the same circumstance as a straight white man I accept my circumstance is far more beneficial than a hindrance in everyday life.

The notion that I need people protesting on my behalf is hilarious.

Idiots.
You must have been frightened fearfully by a centre-left moderate when you were a child.
No, I was frightened of a far-left extremist when I was a child.

Yep, as my dad worked 12 hours a day, 7 days a week in a shitty factory he would often stop and think to himself "gee I'm so lucky the world revolves around me and my straight, white male privilege".

No surprise that a rally that calls to unite together and respect each other is hated by violent leftist c*nts, man hating feminists and their insipid, emasculated male companions.

I saw a lot of women there in the live feed supporting their sons, brothers, husbands and fathers who are being made to feel like second class citizens. Normal people love and support each other without drawing gender inspired battle lines and want society to drop the gender warfare and do the same. Those with the most to lose out of this are of course fighting tooth and nail for the status quo.
Are you sure there is really 'gender warfare' beyond niche rhetorical outbursts and invested internet egos?

That's a lot of emotion to invest in something which might effectively be imaginary.

I'd be saddened if people think that there's no conceivable justification for a "men's issues" rally (other than as a conduit for alt-right mobilisation, as this one seems to have been), because that would mean that it's thought that there are no issues of male disadvantage worth addressing. And yet, many feminists (as well as members of the broader public) agree that there are serious issues affecting men at present, including family court discrimination, violence, high rates of imprisonment and lack of social support. Would it be possible to hold such a rally without Antifa forces descending upon it? It's an interesting thing to contemplate.

Well, Would it even be possible to hold any such rally without it being or becoming a vehicle for the extreme right?
