Eddie, could you please clear up a few questions about the revenue generated by the sale of official CFC merchandise.
Does the sale of Collingwood gear contribute money to the other 15 clubs?
If so, does the purchase of merchandise from stalls at the MCG and Colonial during match day put more money into Collingwood?
Is it best to purchase direct from McHale Stadium or the club website. Does this profit Collingwood most.
Please clear this up for us as there is some confusion as to the best way to maximise revenue from our famous colors.

The way I understand it, if you purchase from a sanctioned Collingwood outlet, such as Vic Park, and the one outlet at the MCG (near gate 6) and the Colonial stadium outlet, then the money is directed back to Collingwood. If you purchase from any sports store, or any of the other stall/outlets at the grounds the money is redirected back into the equalisation fund, and at the end of the year, Collingwood receives 1/16th of the profit from all the sales from these non-collingwood outlets.
To be safe, purchase directly from the club to ensure that ALL the profits go to the Pies. Why should we support the other crap in the league.

Excellent point!
I think you are pretty close to the mark there Legga. As I understand, we fund the other clubs when we but a Collingwood Jumper. That is so wrong. Man. Utd. are the richest sporting club in the world, and currently the most successful, because they market well and keep the rewards of cultivationg a supporter base. As I understand it, even if you buy from Collingwood a cut goes to the AFL for licensing etc. I'm not sure of the details though.
Football socialism is fire and would not be accepted in many other fields of endevour. That is the only thing I can agree with John Elliot on.
If there is an optimum method from the clubs perspective they should publicise it and ensure distribution methods cater for it. Perhaps this can be addressed in the clubs marketing plan - "Maximising The Merchandising Take"
