And, what, his Grand Final record has improved so markedly since then?

In total he has played 12 finals, averaged 18 disposals and kicked 3.9. Blair has played 11 and kicked 3.5.

What we need is outside run. Beams has none.

Leaving is one thing, disrespecting the supporters and your teammates by fresh-airing everyone by going to the pub instead of the Copeland was a bridge too far for me. He clearly didn't respect Bucks and now that there is a change he wants back in? Sorry, you had your shot. We're trying to improve our culture, not undermine it.
Besides, his performances when it counts were lacklustre at best.

A better midfield or a great midfield is the key to winning a flag.
With Beams we could just keep rotating champion player with another champion player through this area. Sidey, Pendles, JDG, Treloar, Adams, Sier, Stevo and Beams .....now that would be a serious beast of a midfield.
And then we have Thomas, Daicos and Brown who can step up we hope.
key question is what is he worth.
