Here's hoping the right wing nuffies in the Libs hear this message loud and clear.

Ahh, who am I kidding, they'll just blame Turnbull.

It's not so much the general election I'm looking forward to, it's the Federal ICAC. We could see some very serious blood letting. The likes of Barnaby and Seenodonors could wind up in some very hot ... er ... water.

As you know, I despise her for what she did to asbestosis victims. There is no possible excuse for what she did, and she should never, ever be forgiven. She is palpably unfit to hold public office in any capacity.

I would rather see Scummo in the top job. Or Trumbles. Or Abbott. Even Dutton, Barnaby, Pauline bloody Hansen.

That said, she clearly is by far the most electable person in the Parliamentary Liberal Party. People say she is weak on economics and domestic policy. Doesn't matter: she will provide them with hope when all seems lost.

Stranger things have happened.
I hate Bishop. Her and Pyne are everything that is wrong with the party.

I predict she'll be the leader after the 2019 election wipeout occurs and she's biding her time on the backbench.

No attitudes like that are what's wrong with the coalition.

Educated democracies are getting more woke as each election rolls around and unless the climate change deniers and anti-abortionists stop holding the Liberal/National parties to ransom they'll continue to look further out of touch with modern Australian values as time goes on.

LOL I'm not a Coalition voter. Not anymore at least, so they can continue to be out of touch for all I care.

Bishop and Pyne are out of touch clowns. Tannin and I don't agree on a lot politically, but he's right about Bishop. Though I don't think she's the great white hope that many believe she is for the Liberals.

You've gone to One Nation then? Or is it Bernardi's mob?

Be that as it may, who do you see as the Liberal's best bet after the election? Like you, I can't see Bishop as a Great White Hope, but I do see her as the most electable of the Liberals; the most able to appeal to the middle-of-the-road voter. Dutton has no hope (even Abbott would go better); Pyne is a joke who would make Alexander Downer look like a messiah; Freudenberg has all the personal appeal of Joe Hockey. Surely not Christian Porter? I can't think of anybody else.

I don't align with any party these days.

I think Frydenberg amongst that lot, but none of them stand out to me.

I just glimpsed a fragment of a Fairfax headline:

"BYELECTION 'I won't let you down', says triumphant..."

Did JdG just win a byelection?? Can he play football and do polly stuff (what do they do?) at the same time? This sounds worse than 4 weeks landscaping, and we know that Nicksters blew up over that "cruel and unusual" punishment.

What is going on?!

I used to think that, but I actually don't mind him now. I've seen him on The Project several times, he can take a laugh at his own expense but he can also speak seriously and knowledgeably on a range of subjects without resorting to the usual cliches and cant. He comes across as genuine, not scripted, which is more than I can say for many of them on either side.

I don't see him as leadership material though, probably because he is too genuine.
