What happened to Kavanaugh was a disgrace.
I wholeheatedly agree.

How a privledged beer swilling sports jock and yobbo let alone a rapist (alleged by a professor who had nothing to gain) and who can hide behind his power can get to be appointed a federal court Judge is a disgrace. I would have said white but Judge Clarence Thomas said hello to me.

Last time I checked, Kavanaugh hasn't been prosecuted for any crimes.

It was a character assassination.

Why would a person with a professorship who was well regarded do this to herself?

People can make allegations for many reasons, but unless proven in a court of law or other tribunal it is just an allegation and the legal principle of "innocent until proven guilty" applies

Because Kavanaugh was going to tilt the Supreme Court conservative, his nomination was something that every leftist was railing and fighting against. There were attempts to smear him or find scandals from the moment he was nominated. The tactic then became to delay his nomination in hopes of taking the Senate in the mid terms.

Instead they found a man of impeccable character who had consistently hired female law clerks and sent a record number of female lawyers to clerk with Supreme Court justices. Even liberal women considered him a Mentor.

There were 4 accusers and 2 of them have been referred by to the FBI/Department of Justice for prosecution for making false statements. None of Christine Blasey Ford's allegations were found to have ANY corroborating evidence. The fourth accuser admitted she made it up because she didn't want him confirmed for political reasons.

Enough said I think. Talk about Trumps Rhetoric.
At worst, he wasn't even accused of rape but given your view, just..... whatever.
Probably more annoyed with myself.

US presidents and mass shootings:

To match Obama's numbers Trump will need to get to about 118 by the end of his current term, my guess is 131 by November 2020. Perhaps we should run a poll on it and see who gets closest.

Since you ask, here's a CNN article with an informative graphic showing the figures for 2001 to 2014. Including 9/11, it was going at the rate of 10 gun deaths in the US for every American killed by terrorists anywhere in the world.

Any moment now, the US is going to declare a war on guns and occupy Alaska with a US peace-keeping force.

Imagine if Congress had passed a few of the gun control proposals before them during the Obama administration. Then, perhaps, Trump might have gotten to oversee a lower mass shooting rate.
