Sorry, let me elaborate.
By wife, I mean the person who vilified and hounded multiple women who made sexual abuse allegations against her husband.

I'm not defending Trump's treatment of women. As OEP says he seems a pig.
I'm just pointing out that the other presidential option was, quite possibly, a rape apologist.

Never said that either was a good choice, was merely expanding on what David posted.thesoretoothsayer wrote:Sorry, let me elaborate.

I wasn't a fan of Hillary Clinton either, for what it's worth (and when it comes to treatment of women, her husband is at least as bad if not much, much worse than Trump). But if you're going to base your voting on a politician's personal conduct, then clearly '(alleged) rapist' is on a whole different strata to 'rape apologist' (or whatever).

There was a great deal of apologism towards Clinton in the '90s from Democrats, including from liberal feminists like Gloria Steinem. But I feel like a lot of Democrats and liberals are starting to wrestle with his legacy a little more after #MeToo. See this recent piece as an example:Wokko wrote:Bill Clinton was and still is a hero of the Democrats and left wingers generally. His conduct towards women was well known at the time. And Hillary isn't just a 'rape apologist' she used her power to attack women who accused her husband.

Otherwise, the idea that he is (or ever was) a hero of the left is nonsense. Most of the American left despise the Clintons and have for a long time.

Milne/Guthrie, etc.: see the "ABC..." thread...

"The ABC has since told Senate estimates that the investigation by barrister Jonathan Forbes will not be made public."
Is it not in their interests to make Forbes's findings public?
