No argument the gun lobby is putting in money, I'm still waiting to see anything remotely factual about their agenda

Allegedly they want to relax our gun laws, but their website doesn't reflect that and I've seen nothing else to support it.

The Gun Lobby are only giving money to conservative parties because they wish to see a true and vibrant democracy in Australia.

They should GTFO of Australia. We need Amreican style funding of politics like we need pedophillia.

Actually, WPT, that's not true. Whatever else you might say about pedophillia, at least the victims generally live through it, which is more than you can say for the victims of the gun lobby.

So the gun lobby should GTFO but it's fine for the unions to pump money into Labor?

Personally, I'd much prefer to have a beer with people who go hunting than CFMEU members.

Democracy at work.

I'll vote Saturday, shepherd the old girl through the park next door to the community centre.

Of course.

On the one hand you have evil private companies owned by a handful of foreigners trying to distort democracy so as to be able to sell more products and kill more people. Utterly disgraceful. There is no excuse for this.

On the other hand, you have free associations of citizens working together for a common interest, run by openly elected leaders. They have every right to have a say in politics, and indeed a duty to take part so as to protect the interests of their members, and indirectly protect the interests of all Australians.

Yeah nah,

If you genuinely believe those two descriptions, there's zero point arguing.

Provide factual evidence to demonstrate that even one of the key things I stated is incorrect.

Gun lobby = private owners. Tick.
Gun companies = foreign owners. Tick.
Gun companies = want to sell more guns. Tick.
More guns = more deaths. Tick.
Utterly disgraceful = matter of opinion. All decent, caring people would say Tick.

Unions = free association of many citizens. Tick.
Unions are people working together in a common interest. Tick.
Unions have democratically elected leaders. Tick.
Unions have both the right and the duty to protect the interests of their members. Tick.
The interests of their members are usually (but not always) also the interests of most other citizens. Tick.

OK, so those parts ^ of what I said are beyond dispute. So there must have been some other thing I said that you don't agree with. Buggered if I know what that could be though.

As soon as you provide factual evidence that your assertions are correct.

You have a 1960's view of unions, things have changed.
