ROHAN
Please give it a rest mate
I know its disapointing in what appears to be another season minus finals football shit mate we are all hurting bad so lay off the witch hunts ok.
Your statement in saying that the present administration is now responsible or accountable for the magpies not being in the finals during the last 3 years is contemptable.
Rohan what is your beef with the collingwood football club and or the present administration mate you dont come across as a passionate collingwood supporter and i say this because you allways seem to be wanting to shit stir the pot.
Why rohan?
Mate the present collingwood administration has taken this club from rock bottom and financial ruin to a very strong club which is now not in financial ruin.
Where is your applause rohan ?
Why is it that some supporters find satisfaction in knocking collingwood because i dont understand this type of behavior, mate if you dont like collingwood why dont you find another team to support because you are embarrassing.
Rohan maybe your a part of the old collingwood where it was once acceptable to behave behind peoples backs in trying to tear the joint down...mate move on this is the new collingwood.
Please dont anyone come along here telling me rohan has a right to spread this bullshit and a right to vent his opinion rohan is a part of something ugly from the past which now has been banished from the collingwood football club.
Support your football club rohan and support it proudly because at the end of the day rohan its the best bloody football club in Australia.
So please mate dont start giving me this 'culture' crap and please dont start bagging the collingwood administration if you cant see the improvement in the last 3 years rohan well im afraid i have little hope for you mate.
Instead rohan channel your negatives into positives you will feel better.
You have a decision rohan will you move on with the new exciting collingwood which now has a bright future or will you continue to be the ugly face of the old collingwood.
please let me know mate because im afraid poison such as yours tends to spread and i aint gonna let you think for one minute mate that you have the right to shit bag a club that so many of us live for and proudly represent.
thanks rohan

Well said Joffa,
I Don't get on here much anymore due to the crap/poison that comes out of Rohan's keyboard.
The fact is that we have won 3 more games than last year and have a chance to add to that in the next two weeks.
I will be dissappointed if we do not make the finals this year.
But that is life. It is only a short term disappointment as I realise that the football department is heading in the right direction.
I hear all the negatives aspects that Rohan and some others crap on with and frankly it shits me no end.
Take a leaf out of Joffa's attitude and band as one.
Not for a minute am I saying shut your eyes and don't have critical constructive opinions, just don't bag the club every minute and saying the same point over and over again.
Footy is indeed a fickle game and so are some of our supporters it seems.
Yes we are on the rise, maybe it taking a touch more time, But I would rather be in Collingwoods position than St-Kilda's quick fix, or Bulldogs/Kangaroos/Geelong's financial position and so on and so on...........
Sure there are players in that side that don't deserve to be playing or earning big pay packets, but with every year that goes on those players are slowly being let go.
Mick Malthouse has been there only two years and his record shows that the side has improved in leaps and bounds.
How long did it take Essendon to Rebuild? look at them now.
Ricky Nixon (player Manager) said on Radio yesterday, "three years ago I wouldn't have recomended collingwood to any of my players that I manage, They lacked finances, good administration and a playing list that was shocking. Today I recommend all of my players that I manage to look seriously at choosing collingwood as a prefered club to move to because they have a sound administration off the field, are in great financial state which will only get better and there team will be playing of in the Grand final in a couple of years time as they have one of the best coaches going around."
If that is not a great endorsement I don't know what is.
Rohan says we are overrated, and that we need 4 mores quality players. I don't disagree we need 4 quality players, but if thats all we need I hardly think we are overrated.
I understand that we need a quality running tall defender.
A quality Ruckmen that can be physical at centre bounces and stoppages around the ground.
We need a quality in and out onballer and a medium sized forward to kick goals.
For example these are the model of players that we need these are just examples of course.
Sean Wellman (Running Back)
Brad Ratten (in and out midfielder)
Everitt/King/Primus (Ruckmen)
Michael O'Loughlin (Medium forward).
I have faith in the current football department that these type of players that we need will only be around the corner.
Rohan get of our backs
Happy and looking forward lifetime magpie supporter.

I have heard your dribble about my so-called lack of passion for the club for an eternity. Just because I don't agree with things that the administration do, I am less of a supporter?
I have always raised how the current administration has done a fantastic job with the finances. Anyone with a financial background will tell you there still is a great deal of work left in this area.
What exactly entails the Old Collingwood in your eyes? Is the old Collingwood when members were feed crap from administrators and were basically untouchable?
Or is old Collingwood when members demanded success, didn't put up with non-performance and were the most successful and feared club in the land?
The current recruiting department has had arguably the best draft picks available to them in the AFL. Of course there is bound to be improvement but if you ask any neutral and two eyed supporters (Joffa) they say the club hasn't maximized them.
If Ricky Nixon says that he recommends all his clients to Collingwood, how come we haven't attracted any big names or genuine match winners?

Rohan - Right, the thing is...no one else is living in the past. WE are all looking forward to the future. FORGET past mistakes and live in the present. We know there have been problems in the PAST so you can stop telling us so. We demand success but we don't have to come on here every day of the week and say the same thing...over and over and over again. And lastly, I understand where you are coming from but move on.

Whats with all this "attracting big names".Why do we need to attract big names to the club to be successful.Last year we attracted largely unknowns with experience and all have filled important holes for us that were glaring last year.At the time,we were ridiculed.Tha Aints were applauded for attracting the "big names" and where has it got them.Debt up to their eyes and now crying for financial assistance from the AFL.It's the biggest myth that you bring some big names in and straight away you're problems are over.Rohan the current admin. is trying to build a side that will carry them trhough the next 10 years and regenerate beyond that.In the past clubs had open cheque books and could sign up anyone they wanted. That was the PAST.These days it ain't so easy. And as has been shown by the clubs you nominated as successful(Bombers & Blooze),you don't need to attract stars, you make your own and pick up some underappreciated rejects. What stars did Essendon pick up to make it a top side.Ditto Carlton. They created a successful side, they didn't buy one.And it didn't just appear overnight. It took years to develop. The Bombers 4-5 years ago were in the same position as we are now. Some classy players wiining them games, some hacks costing them games.Year by year they weeded out the hacks therough clever trading and delisting and recruited talented youngsters. There was some pain but year by year they improved and gelled together to the point they are today. Now we're in a similar situation. Some classy players winning us games and some hacks costing us games.Over time we will weed out the hacks and replace them with talented youngsters, not necessarily quick fix high paid stars.Year by year we will improve until eventually we are standing at the top. This is what you don't appear to see Rohan. You haven't recognised the improvement we are making every year now considering the state we were in.We are on the verge of a possible finals appearance when 2 years ago we were wallowing in our own filth. And we haven't got here by luck or spending big on recruits,we've got here by making the right decisions and investing in young talent. The road hasn't exactly been smoothe,we've made some blunders along the way.Giving pick 3 to Richmond for McKee and pick 7 was dumb, also the Schauble deal was bad.Not so much getting rid of him but not getting value in return although we did get Neon from the draft pick. We've come along the way this year and I for one have been excited watching the Pies surprise us.It hurts when we lose but as long as the young guys learn something from each loss,I'll accept it for now.
Rohan,if you've lost patience with the club and don't see whats coming, thats a problem you'll have to deal with.As you've noticed, most Collingwood supporters see what the club has and is achieving and don't need to be constantly reminded of the dark past. The future is bright. We see the light.Rohan,do U?

A Fairy Tale?
Once upon a time there lived a family who had a garden and in that garden they grew trees. They were very proud of their trees; they were the biggest in the land and could be seen for miles around and in this land trees were a symbol of power - so there was much competition.
They were so proud of their trees and so accustomed to the feeling of power and success that the trees gave them that they became complacent and forgot that trees are not forever. One year they discovered that the trees had grown old and tired and had been overtaken by trees of other families. They were not too worried, years of power had made them wealthy and they could easily replace their trees. They would sack the gardener and appoint a new one and his skill would see them once again grow to great heights. Their wealth meant that they could survive while they waited for that to happen and then they would once again be the strongest in the land, it was their rightful place.
So they replaced the gardener and many of the trees and although some of the new trees did not grow well, the new gardener felt that with encouragement and the application of the right fertiliser they would respond and the family would rise once again. But the gardener became obsessed with the trees that were not thriving and forgot to care for those that were and the whole garden once again went into decline.
The family were forced to take action and once again decided to sack the gardener and replace many trees. They were starting again after already having tried and failed.
So they went out into the land and found a gardener who had demonstrated that he could grow the finest trees. They bought the very best young trees, young trees with much potential that with care and the application of the new gardener's considerable skill would quickly grow to surpass and replace the failing trees.
A year passed, the trees grew, but it was slow and the family were impatient to be, once again, the most powerful family in the land. They demanded that the gardener cease looking after the young trees that could not possibly challenge the mature trees of other families and use their wealth to buy older and larger trees that would restore the family's position in the land.
He said "Look at these young trees, they have grown so fast and straight that surely they will soon be the tallest in the land." and it was true. The gardener's skill was such that he had selected and nurtured trees that could outgrow those of all the other gardeners. They had grown fast and straight, but were young and had not developed strength and were easily bent and broken in stormy weather. The gardener had placed older and stronger trees among the young trees to help protect them while they grew, but they were still years from being the biggest.
The family saw that the young trees were as good as any that were being grown anywhere and with nurture and the gardener's skill would grow to be the best. They agreed to wait while the young trees grew and took their place at the top.
Another year passed and the family once again grew impatient and forgot that they had decided to give the young trees time to grow. They were dismayed when storms bent and broke the young trees and left the older trees of their neighbours untouched and demanded success.
"These trees are no good." they said "They bend and break when the wind blows, they are not big or strong enough. Why do we not have the biggest trees now? We have spent much money, we have the finest gardener and we have already waited many years. We must have success now or we are in danger of becoming accustomed to failure and will never be great again. What can we do?"
"We can nurture our trees and wait" said the gardener "for I know that they are the best and will grow to be the biggest in the land."
"We have the money to buy big trees now." the family replied, "Our garden is limited, why wait for the young trees to grow when we can use the space they occupy to plant trees that are already the biggest."
"Because the young trees are far superior to any that we may be able to buy." replied the gardener, "In only two seasons they have grown past many of the trees in the neighbouring gardens and they continue to grow. I will continue to plant young trees so as these become old the new will replace them."
But the family were too impatient to take heed of the gardener's advice. They tore many of the young trees out leaving only the very biggest and strongest. They went to their neighbours and bought trees already strong and planted them. But their neighbours had sold them trees that were soon to be replaced anyway and used the space to replace them with the new strong variety developed by the gardener who, having left the family in disgust, was now working for the neighbours.
The family used up their wealth over the following seasons, and, no longer powerful, could not attract the investment of others. They could not continue to buy the big trees that they needed to restore their position, nor could they buy time to enable them to take the only path that would have saved them. And that was to develop a new strain of tree and patiently wait while it developed to once again make them a power in the land.
The family intermarried with a neighbouring family, who were also struggling, and combined their gardens and assets in an attempt to once again rise from the ashes.

Here we go again.
I agree that bagging is counterproductive. I=As I have said before, we all have a view and a right to disagree with someone else's.
I will say 1 thing.
In 100 years only 2 premierships have been bought on big name recruits. North in 1975 and Carlton in 1987. Apart fron that it has been fruitless. In fact the attempt sent US broke in the 80's.
That said, we need some strenthening of our list. I don't care if he is a name as long as he get A FARKING HIT OUT!!!!!!
