The following item may be of interest to you all, especially if you have Carlton fans giving you stick about their win and our loss this weekend.

For some time now, the Collingwood London Supporters Club have been hoping to field a team in the BARFL aussie rules comp here in the UK. See www.barfl.co.uk

After some amicable discussions with the London Gryphons team (the ones who wear the Carlton jumpers) an agreement has been made to merge and change the name and team jumpers. It is with great pleasure that we tell everyone on Nicks that we are to be known as the Putney Magpies and the team will be pulling on the honoured black and white jumpers from the competition start in May.

Merchandise, new web page, new membership package details will alll follow soon. Please be aware, that as a volunteer group, we are endeavouring to gain sponsors and support from all interested parties.

A function will be held, at a soon to be announced venue for all those in London who wish to attend.

We hope that support will follow soon from The Collingwood Football Club and that all pies fans back home will take delight in hearing about our players, events and news from the north.

A committee of the London Supporters group will co run the team and strive to make us winners both off and on the field. With Gus from the Gryphons leading the way with the team, we know we have a winning fromula.

Thank you to both Mike and Nicks Page, Magpie Mad and all others who have shown interest in us.

The Putney Magpies will be up and running, training and proud to be part of the global black and white army.
