RIP Ben Smith

Ben died this week in hospital after being assaulted outside a brighton night club.
The cheersquad committee and collingwood cheersquad members would like to pass on our deepest sympathy to ben's family.
Ben was a valuable cheersquad member in season 2002
RIP mate.

That's just defies description.

What the hell is going on in this world? Another violent night club death. What are there so many scum bags around?

Ben was one of those really passionate guys that just put his heart and soul into barracking for the Pies.

I'm completely staggered by this news.

Not sure what I'm feeling the most at the moment ... the sadness or the anger.

Just to clear that up so their is no confusion, the ben smith is not the ben smith we knew in our time with the squad, same name different person
the ben smith deceased was a member back in the 2002 season.
And was 32 years old

I just saw on the news that the alledged attacker has now been charged with manslaughter.

What a tragedy - it could happen to any of us. :(

I really thought it was (our) Ben too.... I feel terrible and I hope he hasnt read what I posted... Today in the ppr I notice that this guy was born in 71 so it couldnt possibly have been who I thought...

OMG that is sooooooooo sad.....RIP BEN

was his story in the paper today coz my friends n i were readin it and one of them is like hey tara sumthin on the pies!

i look at it and see a picture or men carrin a coffin with a young boy dressed in collingwood clothes! i didnt get time to read the article but it was so sad to see that!
