I'd take a deep breath on that. I suggest it's a reasonably predictable knee jerk reaction while all the wounds of Christchurch are still raw. Give it 12 months they'll be back to normal. NZ beat cops don't carry guns, ISIS has called for revenge, they just don't have the resources.
I wouldn't worry about it, that Muslim bloke in the wheelchair who's wife was murdered made a pretty powerful presence for peace. I wouldn't have the strength to do the same thing, I'd be wanting 10 minutes alone with the murderer with a baseball bat and machete.
