ANZAC day in NZ

Post by Skids »

What a sorry state of affairs. Can't say what I think about this, it'll be deleted.

Nearly 60 Anzac Day events cut in Auckland amid security fears

Only 26 commemorations will go ahead in Auckland this month, compared to 84 last year, as organisers from Returned and Services' Associations (RSAs) consolidate gatherings over lingering security fears after the March 15 shootings at two Christchurch mosques.

I'd take a deep breath on that. I suggest it's a reasonably predictable knee jerk reaction while all the wounds of Christchurch are still raw. Give it 12 months they'll be back to normal. NZ beat cops don't carry guns, ISIS has called for revenge, they just don't have the resources.

I wouldn't worry about it, that Muslim bloke in the wheelchair who's wife was murdered made a pretty powerful presence for peace. I wouldn't have the strength to do the same thing, I'd be wanting 10 minutes alone with the murderer with a baseball bat and machete.
Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down.

Don't worry. A white Nazi won't last very long in a prison full of maoris amd Pacific Islanders.
Annoying opposition supporters since 1967.
