Where is Rachel Griffiths???

Post by 88MPH »

Surely she should be on ABC radio celebrating the burning of Notre Dame Cathedral in the same way that she was when the magnificent church of St James Gardenvale was still alight several years ago???

Has Notre Dame Cathedral been directly linked with child abuse, as that church was? Otherwise, I'm struggling to see where you're going with this.

Not for a single moment do I feel anything but repulsion for the crimes committed against children by members of the clergy, no matter the circumstances or the location.

However, there are literally tens of thousands of people who have felt part of the tight-knit community of St James over the years including a large number of returned servicemen and women who found solace at "that church" at the end of the First War when recovery services were scarce, through the Presentation convent, at Star of the Sea College and at ANZAC house across the road.

For her to rejoice in the destruction of "that church" whilst it was still burning was to ignore this most simple and fundamental of points - that a church, to many, is more than just a building, and to welcome its destruction is to drive a knife into the hearts of those who are part of its community.

It however, appears that that point is not so simple after all...

I had to Google Rachel Griffiths. I doubt bricks and mortar ever committed child abuse, so it proves yet again that actors become celebrities because they're either talented enough in their profession, make good eye candy (which applies to both male and female) or both, not because they have enough brain cells to make their opinion worthwhile

It’s about as much as I’m prepared to offer, sorry.
