Just finished looking at the video of his press conference and the feeling I got is he's still just a boy!!! His bewildered facial expressions say that even he doesn't understand what made him do it!

Still don't get how the penalty was worse than Heath Shaw. Heater bet using inside information re: Maxwell playing forward. I would have thought that was worse. Yet Heater = 8 weeks, Steph, 22 weeks

He didn’t thump someone three weeks running, on camera, and only get pinged the third time, and only got 1 week, he didn’t pinch and stamp on players 2 weeks running and only got 2 weeks, he didn’t smash a kids face in and only get 8 weeks, he didn’t hit someone at a junior footy match and get zilch like a certain coach, and he did not get caught, he owned it. Unlike the drug cheat bombers who still think they did nothing wrong!

10 weeks is overs, it’s pure and simple Collingwood loading.

Well said T P, you said it all, could not have put it better myself, my son now just walked in from work, and said, "Dad how come Gaff smashed that kids face in broke his jaw, spat teeth, and got lesser than this ??" He thinks like us, make no mistake, this is a stich up, as I said above, the kid cannot even play VFL, no match fitness, its a stichup, pure an simple.

After the St Kilda game, Jaidyn told Howie that a team mate had cost him his multi. Obviously the alarm bells went off with Howie & the rest is history.
This makes more sense to me, as I couldn't figure out why Jaidyn felt guilty after the third bet. Why not the first or second?

Take drugs, self report and you get a strike with no effective sanction. Doing it again, you get another strike!!!!

It was always going to be a harsh penalty

The thing is there's now a rumour that he inadvertently mentioned something about going close on a multi in front of a team mate who told him he was in huge trouble if this came out
If the rumour is true and going by his own statement he knew he was doing the wrong thing then self reporting was a way to get out of as much trouble as possible by being proactive

There isn't a excuse for his actions players are schooled heavily on this stuff
He's made a huge error and is going to pay a huge price 10 weeks + $20k fine and $50k in lost earnings
Our team is now weakened and he has to understand how many people he's let down
Slap him up the ear then put a arm around the kid and hope he learns his lesson and comes back to the fold knowing he owes his club and does repays it in spades

Imagine if he hadn't told Howie and it continued all season before he was caught... we'd have been talking seasons of bans not weeks. He was going to get caught no matter what, just a matter of time. At least he will be back for finals, and fresh.
