Varcoe's games can not be judged on what you see on TV.
Varcoes game:

16 disposals, 10 contested. 81% efficiency.

5 intercepts. 2 turnovers.

6 score involvements and 1 goal assist.

Wouldnt be in the votes, but far from worst on ground. These numbers are what I think we can expect from a 31 year old. It's clear that he is not the player he was when he was a bit younger, but still a valued part of the team. Will make way when the time is right.
Can't see him going anywhere this year if he keeps going the way he is. The majority of his hard work happens off the ball. He is vitally important to the current set up.

An ok win. The Dogs are a cheeky scrappy side.

It was almost Identical to Round 4 v them. We one only 1 quarter (5 goals to 2 on both occasions and the margins were almost the same (14 & 9).
Don't count the days, make the days count.

Treloar was outstanding, today.

Quiet early, with 7 disposals in the first quarter but motored home with 29 more, in the other three.

11 clearances, 8 tackles and 70% disposal efficiency made his effort highly noteworthy.
Donny.

Exactly. No one works harder than Varcoe and in this measurement alone, he provides an example to the rest of the team.

The ugliest of our ugly wins this year, and we’ve had quite a few so far.No wonder Buckley looked so unhappy after the game.So many poor players and Thomas was bad yet again. Some of his half arsed kicks really cost us,especially in the last quarter.Needless to say we really missed Stephenson today.I think that kid is more important to us than we realise.

I’ve been fearful of Trav’s spot in our side going forward but I saw something today that tells me he has his mojo back. Some of his front & centres and closing tackles and hitting the pack at top speed tell me he’s still got a bit to offer. The stats Presti provided tell me that Bucks would be happy with him today. It’s gunna take a bit to dislodge him from the 22.

Varcoe provides the 1 and 2% stuff that goes unseen and with his explosiveness at the opposition, he indeed is very valuable.
