Can't see him going anywhere this year if he keeps going the way he is. The majority of his hard work happens off the ball. He is vitally important to the current set up.Presti35 wrote:Varcoes game:makri wrote:Varcoe's games can not be judged on what you see on TV.mudlark wrote:A win.A puke worthy win at that. They looked like they were trying to lose.Worst game from Varcoe I've ever seen. But we're sitting pretty in 2nd spot,1 game clear and one off the top.I'll take that.
16 disposals, 10 contested. 81% efficiency.
5 intercepts. 2 turnovers.
6 score involvements and 1 goal assist.
Wouldnt be in the votes, but far from worst on ground. These numbers are what I think we can expect from a 31 year old. It's clear that he is not the player he was when he was a bit younger, but still a valued part of the team. Will make way when the time is right.

Exactly. No one works harder than Varcoe and in this measurement alone, he provides an example to the rest of the team.Presti35 wrote:Varcoes game:makri wrote:Varcoe's games can not be judged on what you see on TV.mudlark wrote:A win.A puke worthy win at that. They looked like they were trying to lose.Worst game from Varcoe I've ever seen. But we're sitting pretty in 2nd spot,1 game clear and one off the top.I'll take that.

The ugliest of our ugly wins this year, and we’ve had quite a few so far.No wonder Buckley looked so unhappy after the game.So many poor players and Thomas was bad yet again. Some of his half arsed kicks really cost us,especially in the last quarter.Needless to say we really missed Stephenson today.I think that kid is more important to us than we realise.

I’ve been fearful of Trav’s spot in our side going forward but I saw something today that tells me he has his mojo back. Some of his front & centres and closing tackles and hitting the pack at top speed tell me he’s still got a bit to offer. The stats Presti provided tell me that Bucks would be happy with him today. It’s gunna take a bit to dislodge him from the 22.

Varcoe provides the 1 and 2% stuff that goes unseen and with his explosiveness at the opposition, he indeed is very valuable.
