I wasn't paying attention, but even when the scores were very close after a half, the punters still assumed GWS would pull away, and you could still get 2.75 on Essendon.
Fantastic! GWS just succumbed to Essendon. Gives us a chance to consolidate second on the ladder. Shows how close the competition is, and shows that we need to appreciate the strength we have displayed in stringing together 10 victories, despite the unconvincing nature of some.We have won, despite playing below our best. In such a close competition, this is very important. Our below standard form has still been enough to win, in a competition where any team, on the day, is capable of winning against another.
Once again, we are shaping up as the "unknown factor".
Adelaide Geelong interesting game. Geelong are 14 points up as of writing, but they are playing on their own ground, giving them about a 5 goal advantage. Fascinating last quarter to play out. Even if Adelaide loses, but by a small margin, it will be further evidence of fissures starting to crack open in the feline armour.
This was the better result for us by far. We won’t catch Geelong in 1st, but the Crows were a big threat to our top 4 spot. This gives us a bit more breathing room.
