I only have 4 game membership, and wasted last one on that dreadful performance. Norf were far too good, their concentration was miles better than ours, they wanted to win more, it was that simple. Honestly, I cannot think of even 3 players who did well, Grundy battled hard, Treloar at least tried hard, maybe Maynard, the rest were pitiful. Our forward line cannot function without Stephenson and Elliott, and no Howe and Langdon, our backs struggle, and Taylor adams is sorely missed. I cant single out bad players cos basically, they were lall rotten, it was just abysmal performance. I just hope upon hope that this is our wake up call, we have been listless for last month, lucky to beat dogs, swans, carlton, I think this loss has been coming for a long time, we had it coming. The loss we had to have, to wake us up, at long last. WE must regroup, re charge, maybe give Quaner a go next week, ? and come out and hit the Hawks with all we have, we have to put this horrid game behind us, and come out utterly determined next week, if we really are a top 2 side, now we must prove it.!

Very glad of a few things:
1) Rapt to see Shazza get through his first game back, unscathed. He’s one that’ll make us nervous for a while yet.
2) Roughead was one of the few that held his line tonight. Fantastic pickup for us; he has had a hell of a year. Probably our 5th most important backline player (counting our injured players) and he plays like it’s all on his shoulders.
3) Mayne never stops, does he? He was so out of form and favor when he started with us, I thought the tale of Chris Mayne would be that of a horror trade, best forgotten. Credit to him and Bucks, he’s now as solid a player as we have, and he does his job very well. Huge tank, and he empties it every week.
4) That’s one more week off the injury return countdown. Yes, the 22 in the field should be good enough. But we’re a different side with Adams, and Billy adds a hell of a lot of potency to our forward line.
5) The adverse impact to Collingwood aside, I always admired Rhyce Shaw and it’s nice to see him copping his share of well-deserved backslaps.
6) Sometimes a home-and-away game will highlight the worst of you, when the oppo plays at their best and all your worst habits and shortcuts manifest themselves at the same time. That’s how I see tonight’s game. It can be a valuable experience, so here’s hoping it’s dragged our lazy flaws into the light. Here’s hoping we see how truly ugly are the manifestations of lax discipline, and it scares us enough to redouble our commitment. Losses are opportunities. And next week is statement week.

Our non performance was actually so bad, so rotten, pathetic, gutless, I was actually hoping some Security Guard would ask me to leave the ground, for NOT barracking bloody hard enough !!

Nice post, Streak. Our full list of weaknesses was on display; better now than later. We've made a big effort to become smarter so we don't rely on manic pressure, but we've over-corrected. Next, to get the balance right.
This was the perfect storm with heart-and-soul players like Adams and Howe out, two players down, Grundy nullified, and Stephenson not there to worry the opposition. In this context, those with dodgy disposal, Coxy who needs more time to build confidence, the kids, and returnees like Schaz will all be exposed.
At least we have ridden this horse to death and can address things with clear eyes from a fortunate ladder position.

Tonight's 'effort' and result has been building up for a while now; the critical mass of injuries is really biting, but we still had 22 out on the park and our pressure was insipid and our run and carry was replaced by jog and drop.
The Stephenson debacle, combined with the diminution of our midfield grunt (Adams) has exposed the vanilla nature of our team. Full credit to North who exposed our vulnerabilities.
This team needs to find its mojo and quick. Ive read with interest over the last few weeks we are playing 'in second gear' ; maybe we have already peaked for 2019 and we don't have another gear to go to?
A tough week ahead, but good teams are only ever one win away from regaining their 'brand'. Let's hope that we are a good team

Err picking 3 talls means we didnt have any speed on the ground from the get go and once Reid was gone we had nothing except De Goey. 3 talls last week barely worked. When I look at the likes of Hawthorn, they're renowned for consistently having a red hot go. Never a white flag to be seen with that crew. To me that's a non-negotiable from their coach.
Instead of berating the players it might pay to take a wider look at it. After all, Collingwood and all that it is, has a history of this kind of thing - rears it's head at the weirdest of times.
I still looks to me like mental tiredness more than anything else. You can't win this thing if you haven't got the mongrel.
If that's what's going on here, you'd think the coaches would spot it, although Bucks said they certainly didn't see it coming.
