Looks like a pretty random stat at a totally random time, but gotta wonder when random stuff always has us as the outlier.

As you say, quite a random stat, but what does appear to be a constant regardless of the randomness is :
there is a strong correlation between Collingwood and outlier status in regard to no. of injuries/games missed through injury/
TBH, if we did not do a single trade in the upcoming trade period, and simply kept our current list intact, but instead improved our injury related stats to simply lying within the median range band, this would be almost enough to win the Premiership. Our list is already so close, and the nightmarish injury debacle played a major role in undermining our campaign this year.

Surely it’s time to have a good run with injuries at Collingwood

Our record against interstate teams at the G, is pretty average.

Good team don’t get beaten on their home turf against Giants, Freo, WC ETC.

Do Collingwood supporters overate our team thus perpetually setting ourselves up for failure and disappointment? Do we have totally misplaced and unrealistic expectations of a team that lacks a few KPP’s to really give the flag a shot? Do we ever learn?

It was our midfielders, not our KPPs, who lost us the Prelim imo.

I reckon we may have overrated how good our mids are.

At the start of the year we were called the greatest midfield ever. By the end of the year, we didn’t even make it in the top 5.

The only midfielder we have with polish is Pendles. The rest are scragglers. We need some class in there if we want to compete and not regress.

I agree generally - but our two tall forwards having 6 disposals didn’t really pick up too much of the slack, there, either.

That's true, but only because our genuine 2 main forwards - De Goey and Cox - were unavailable.

Yeah probably right there. Don’t know if I’m sulking or having a sooky sooky la la but I’m struggling big time to get excited about watching the GF. Still spewing about such a wasted opportunity

And you’d hardly call either of them genuine forwards; not in the traditional mould anyway. I don’t think there is too much wrong with the list. We don’t need to throw the baby out with the bath water.
