Yep, too early to be thinking about the Grand Final. Hopefully we can do that after today's game.K wrote:^ Your omen ends at the prelim?

The Coronation is a BIG omen for Collingwood!
Yes, it is. Because the last time a Coronation was held , the Queen was in 1953, and the Magpies made the GF, an beat the Cats, in a tight match and it was called, the Coronation Premiership, back then. Now its 2023, exactly 70 year later, to the year, same time. So, maybe, just maybe its a good omen for us , can King Charlie bring home the Flag for the Maggies, time will tell, but you never know , hey. Heck im no big fan of Royalty, but if de ja vu can happen, then, as the Poms say, " Jolly good show ".

Re: The Coronation is a BIG omen for Collingwood. !
If there is a causal relationship between British monarch coronations and Collingwood premiership flags, then we should definitely hope that the monarchy staggers along a few years more.Piesnchess wrote:Yes, it is. We should also hope that there is a high attritition rate with monarchs, so that as many coronations as possible can be packed into whatever time remains for this absurd institution.

If so, we might have to speed up turnover in that role and get some coronations happening more regularly. Any 21st-century Cromwells looking for work?

Hope you don’t have a “coronary” watching the game comradePiesnchess wrote:Yes, it is. Because the last time a Coronation was held , the Queen was in 1953, and the Magpies made the GF, an beat the Cats, in a tight match and it was called, the Coronation Premiership, back then
I term the current Collingwood attack based strategy “Unceasing Waves” like on a stormy and windy day with rough seas. A Perfect Storm
