He looked to me like every mark he took was a two grab fumble style mark with his forearms! Nothing clunking into the mits...

Hopefully he ends up being ok

A marks a mark and paid in front of goal hopefully a score

Moore and Roughead and Howe are the taller brigade who take a fair few pack marks so if what his highlight reel showed (and you only see a slim amount)

If this bloke clicks and holds firm against opponent,s gotta b good

I highly doubt that
Yep sure. I highly doubt the #1 in contested marks for any ruck and/or forward in a year we made the Grand Final would be able to put together a highlights reel if he played in the NEAFL.

stui magpie wrote:Great pick up. Insurance for both Grundy and Cox. If either of them goes down he can fit straight in and play a role.

Also good for our VFL team with 2 big blokes who can alternate Ruck/Forward, same model as the AFL team.

He can take a mark, kick straight and ruck. Get him to latch onto Grundy over preseason and try to do what he does
Exactly. Shouldn't be under any illusions that he's been recruited as depth. The difference between pick 62 and 56 is worth having an AFL listed 24 year old 205 cm ruckman with six years experience in senior football as our VFL ruckman. Our VFL team needs to perform better to give our kids a chance to develop.

In saying that, we probably didn't expect Noble would be playing in a prelim final when we drafted him in the mid season rookie draft, or expect Mihocek would be a goal and a half a game forward when we drafted him as a defender in the rookie draft. Cameron may walk straight into the first team, stranger things have happened.

But at worst he's much needed depth which benefits the development of our AFL listed players in the VFL, and as you say, allow us to have the same system in both teams.

Look, I will fess up, prior to last two weeks, I had not even HEARD of this guy, had never heard of him. So, he was a fringe player at the Swans, correct ? I cant recall him playing a senior game, for them, or am I missing something here. ??

So, pray tell, what EXACTLY does he bring to our Magpie Table ?????

1 senior game in 2018 (at home vs. GC): 9 HO, 1K, 2M, 2H, 1 clanger.

And Sydney lost that game too.

Hopefully his recruitment will turn out to be as successful as the one of J Roughead.

not sure why everyone thinks we need a back up ruck.

If Grundy goes down, we're fooked anyways. I'd rather a player that could play as a permanent forward and perhaps do some part time ruck and do both better than Cox.

In Darcy we have a player who we hope plays ZERO games. If he has to play game, then our season is screwed anyways.
