Prepping for Christmas. Got the tree up, shopping done at Dan Murphys, meat bought and ready to cook, get the veges tomorrow and cook most of the stuff on Christmas Eve. Got the 2 bain maries set up ready to go.
Mowed the back yard with the $50 push mower. Had to fiddle with the height and blades but got it working. No motor, battery or electric, relies on good old fashioned kinetic energy and I get a workout doing it.
Family arriving soon, Tacos for dinner

Hey Stu, Merry Christmas to the whole family! sounds like you really have it all sussed, and thats always great. well done you.
so ive always been my harshest critic, and ive wanted to print something big, i know friends have printed my pics, but I dont know, i didnt want to be disappointed! So i took the plunge, and printed one of my favourites onto a metre by something canvas, this pic always makes me smile, it was the first time id used the new to me 100-400mm, and i just love love love pelicans! this guy had me in stitches, so i figured if i stick him in the downstairs loo at the new house, he will give people a chuckle, but a photog group im in reckon hes too good for the loo! im just really stoked how it came out! so this made me very happy today! cheers

Back at work since Saturday: after 6 weeks off. Nothing’s changed. While that hasn’t made me happy I learnt from “People & Culture” used to be called HR (FFS) that I have 16 weeks LSL

On Saturday really pushed myself in Spin Class.
Worked Saturday pm shift, got home at 1115 pm and was in bed at 1230 am. Got up at 6:30 went for a bike ride to Frankston.
Strong southerly and was tired, could only manage about 22 km’s per hour more or less at times. Just felt sore and tired. Then a “train” of riders came past (about 10 or so) & I thought I can do that & joined them at the back: took me a bit if effort to catch up but riding with them I got “drafted” & was doing 30-36 km’s all the way to Frankston.
I was doing 34-42 on the way back with a fantastic tailwind from Frankston to Aspendale along Nepean Highway meeting friends for coffee at Mordialloc.
Went to work later & was spent.
Slept in this morning & did some laps at the very quiet Carnegie Pool before work .... before brunch with Mrs WPT and before work today (pm shift)

I remember having to mow the lawn with a hand mower a gazillion years ago when I was a little tacker.
When Mum & Dad became rich enough to vote liberal we shifted to South Caulfield from East Brunswick (1970) & in the new old house the grass in the back yard was knee length. Dad dropped me off with the said manual lawn mower. Well many hours later (no trees in the big backyard) the lawns were indeed cut!
That was damned hard work as a skinny 13 year old; at least I was spared from sweeping the chimneys

Very nice pic TP
WPT, having the manual mower (I took the petrol one up to Toc rather than buy a new one) gives incentive to mow frequently. It's OK when it's low but I'd hate to use it on knee high lawn.

Great pic TP.
And WPT your bike riding adventures have reminded me to get back on the bike - not tot the extent you do though. Have not been riding much this year, time to give the bike a good service and get back into it.
And thanks to everyone for their congrats on the red headed chicks passing VCE.
Quick update - she got into her 1st preference course which is Forensic Science at Deakin Uni (Waurn Ponds). She is very happy but has decided to stick with her plan of a gap year to travel a bit, save money, get her licence and then work out whether she will commute or live at uni in 2021.

Forensic Science? Good on her. I was interested in that as a kid but a chat with the local Police Sargent changed my mind.
Anyway, cooking going to plan.
Steamed veges are done and in the fridge, Pork and Turkey in the oven, spuds and tomato & Onion pie will go in as soon as meat is done.
Daughter is here, had to take her car in this morning to get a door lock fixed, she expected to take an hour but they told her 3pm so she walked here and is camped in the lounge room cleaning up work emails.
