They'll certainly do everything they can to stop him. But let's not forget the Republican Party tried to do the same with Trump and failed miserably.Wokko wrote:Do you really think the DNC is going to let Sanders anywhere near the nomination?

Democrat party power brokers are far more "in Control" than Republicans. Not that long ago the Tea Party movement took over the party, then the Trump train came along. Republican grass roots have much more power and control because that's the nature of right wing libertarianism that has a lot of sway in the USA.
Superdelegates will decide any but the most overwhelming public nominations, if the DNC want Biden then that's who we'll get. The Bernie bros will then be angry enough that some will vote Trump again. We've seen this movie before.

Sanders would get slaughtered in a Presidential election.
He may have some appeal with the young left wing Democrats, but socialsm is ingrained in the US psyche as worse than bestiality. All the moderates who aren't rusted on Democrats will roll out to say "Hell No" at the polls

They were right insofar as she won the popular vote by 3 million.Jezza wrote:^ Polling also said Hillary Clinton would win a landslide in 2016.
Anyhow, if you’re right and we can’t even use polling as a vague guide, let’s stop pretending we know which candidate or other is electable. The notion that Sanders can’t beat Trump relies on the same sort of "common wisdom" that asserted that Trump couldn’t win in 2016. I expect a close result whomever they nominate, and I don’t think for a moment that Biden, Warren or Buttigieg are safe bets.

Polling is accurate but you're not dealing with a national, popular election. In the states that it matters, Trump is still the man. Hillary didn't even bother to campaign in some of the rust belt battleground states, she was the epitome of arrogant elitist thinking she's above the working mostly white man in those areas and paid dearly.
I don't see Sanders winning in those states either, but the sirens call of socialism is a seductive one (before your ship gets dashed on the rocks anyway).

Sanders seems to be doing very well in head-to-head match-ups against Trump in Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Ohio and North Carolina, all states that Clinton lost.

The only swing state that he seems to struggle badly against Trump in is Florida. Otherwise, presuming the blue and red states line up as per usual, winning three or four of the five states listed above could well be enough to get him over the line.

North Korean propagandists certainly have a unique turn of phrase:

I mean, I wouldn't have put it quite like that, but...“Rabid dogs like Biden can hurt lots of people if they are allowed to run about,” a statement by the official KCNA news agency said. “They must be beaten to death with a stick.”

Unless he gets the nomination and the centrist Democrats do the same (although I have a feeling they might hold their nose and vote for Sanders just so they can get rid of Trump).
