It doesn't matter if you hate this person; he's in very good company and they're right:

Of course, what they don't say is that the deranged narcissist and his cronies are literally oppressing the globe and devaluing the wealth of billions of people through this move.

I'm sure Trump's virtual Australian fan club will find reason to praise their dear imaginary leader for devaluing their wealth and threatening their prosperity.

Perhaps the fawning Morrison can reassure everyone its all part of the lord's plan as he jostles with bin Salman and Bolsonaro for a Man of Steel medallion from Trump, following in Little Johnny's footsteps. (We all know how well that turned out for Captain Wasteful's legacy).
You'll be disappointed, yet again, Trump has made great progress and struck a nice deal with China.

No 3rd world war, no economic meltdown, record employment, number 1 economy in the world... I wonder how all that egg on all those faces is tasting?
More like you'll be disappointed that I'm well aware of the latest tweet on that and it's in the article.

Do you count the losses so far as zero for the sake of a tweet from an inveterate liar? Here's your 'Phase One' whatever the hell it actually turns out to be: https://www.nytimes.com/2019/10/11/busi ... -deal.html

You can say a lot of things about Trump, but one thing’s for certain: the man sure is a crook.

Not a coward, just becoming a politician.

While the Democrats are trying to impeach him, why the hell would he do anything that they like or support anything of theirs?

^Isn't that precisely when you get to demonstrate that you're not a self-serving coward? He's a grandiose narcissist, so I was merely making a rhetorical point, not actually expecting him to take one for the people.

The excuses are much more interesting, though. He's not really breaking a promise of his own will for his own ends to the expense of someone else, he's just becoming a normal politician and for this characteristically masterful pivot we should all be grateful. In fact, when you think about it hard enough he's the real victim here, not the people whose lives are being ruined by medical debt.

(I know you don't literally think that, but the argument could be construed to lean that way).

More protectionist warfare:

Steel and aluminium are now 'national security issues', along with other people's oil and international efforts to tax e-commerce and close avoidance loopholes.

The silence on this from yesterday's economics experts is deafening. It's amazing what unaffordable tax cuts for millionaires will buy you.

Drug prices, guns, healthcare, wealth disparity, women's life choices, favoured despots, data privacy, political capture, air and water quality, student debt, sustainable government revenues, financial regulation, election security, national and international stability, not so much of a concern.
