Not sure who that helps, I mean the right likes her but they wont drop Trump and the left like her policies but have been hoodwinked by the "Muh Russia" crap because they can't say the Democrats are lying about Russia/Tulsi and maintain their delusion about Russia/Trump.David wrote:Don’t want to have to agree with Hillary Clinton, but surely she’s preparing for a third-party run, right?
At this stage I wouldn't be surprised if she got primaried in her house seat too. Walking out of the convention in 2016 and sticking it to Hillary and Kamala has probably sunk her career. Might as well switch to (R) at this point, her own party hates her
Because he's white, male and his politics are middle of the road which will appeal to enough voters in middle America who see themselves in his image.David wrote:What makes you so sure Biden will do any better?
Trump I suspect garnered enough votes last time from people who didn't necessarily like him but were turned off by Clinton even more.
I don't feel Biden is as polarising a personality as Clinton and those who liked Clinton and voted for her or support Sanders will still vote Democrat as they despise Trump even more 4 years later.
He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD!

Take out California and Trump wins the popular vote in 2016.swoop42 wrote:Clinton already got 2.8 million more votes than Trump.
She only needed around 80,000 more votes in 3 states to be President.
Biden will romp that in.
One term Trump.
I'm predicting Trump holds all states except for Michigan, and gains New Hampshire and possibly Virginia and Nevada.
Biden does not enthuse voters the way Sanders does and is losing his marbles with each passing day.
If anything Sanders supporters will either stay home or some will defect to Trump's camp again if Biden is the nominee.

I've always seen Sanders as the biggest threat to Trump, because despite their radically different solutions they both identify the same issues facing the US and talk to the same type of voters.David wrote:What makes you so sure Biden will do any better?
Sanders is a political outsider and someone who has the capabilities of flipping votes in the key rust belt states. I can't see Biden doing that to the same extent. We're still in the midst of an anti-establishment wave and Biden epitomizes the establishment that people are voting against.
Biden will win more votes on the coastlines, but it won't translate to a significant increase in electoral college votes.
The similarities between Biden and Clinton are uncanny. Trump is going to thrive against Biden.

We can only wonder what would've happen if Bernie decided to pull out last year and put his support behind Warren.
Instead we have 2 near octogenarians in a contest to see which one will lose to Trump.

^ He's doing better than Warren would have. She had nowhere near the organisation or energy of his support base. The fact that she had the opportunity to be the first female president as well as an effective compromise candidate between the left and the party establishment and still failed to gain any traction says a lot about how weak her campaign was.

If he had of withdrawn and supported her early and actually campaigned for her, she'd be in front now.
Fact is, neither her or Bernie will now be POTUS cos after 8 years of Trump the Democrats may actually learn and go with someone who doesn't belong in a retirement home

This piece seems to back this conclusion up:David wrote:^ He's doing better than Warren would have. She had nowhere near the organisation or energy of his support base. Honestly not sure Sanders will win another state at this point. The polling looks grim. The Democratic establishment is probably feeling pretty good about itself right now, but I doubt they’ll be smiling once the reality of having gone all in for a cardboard Biden nomination hits them.
