Because having a pathological liar in charge of a significant foreign power is good for the rest of us?

Unfortunately, it's the global economy that's in meltdown, and George W. II set it up with his trade wars, billionaire tax cuts, undermining of the central bank, gutting of government agencies and serious staff, constant destabilisation of social norms and cooperation, and more.

That's Trump's malignant narcissism in one: act for yourself today, and let others sort it out tomorrow.

No one in a sober state would trust a lying serial bankrupt and con man, who has bleedingly obvious psychiatric issues, with serious responsibility. It's the height of self-deception to have normalised him. Once a destructive creep, always a destructive creep, much like Tony Abbott, but in different ways. Toxic is toxic is toxic.

Getting even angrier about such a foolish decision, and reacting with even less control, is about as wise as gambling more to make up for gambling losses.

The right answer is this: I was angry, and like everyone else on earth when angry I convince myself of stupid things I wouldn't normally contemplate.

right now THE global economy meltdown sits smack on the shoulders of China and their disgusting "old world" traditions.

lets see, we have had floods, hurricanes, bushfires, a volcanic erruption, a pandemic and now fricken earthquakes in salt lake city, I think mother nature is trying to tell us something! "you dont want to listen to GLOBAL WARMING??? suck on THIS!"""

^China or not, the risk of disease will not go away. That's why you have insurance: healthcare, emergency services, scientific services, social services, quality environments, strong international treaties and organisations, and mutually-beneficial trade policies. It's also why you help countries develop and don't treat them as your enemy. And you definitely don't waste money on billionaires, wars, and company handouts; you don't overheat markets like a complete moron, support dying polluting and corrupt industries, and wreck your most important assets: trust and central bank leverage (which are in many ways the very same thing).

On cue, Trump delivers on his big oil bailout: https://thehill.com/policy/energy-envir ... f-oil-amid

That's the way. First, you give multi-millionaire oil barons giant tax cuts and roll back environmental protections even as climate worsens. Then, they piss that money up against the border wall on share buybacks. Then, you overheat the economy through idiotic tweets and fed interference, encouraging them to over-invest. Then, when they go broke you bail them out.

Well done George W II! Dick Cheney will be proud of you, son. Mission Accomplished Greatly Again!

One of the fundamental flaws in the narcissistic psychiatry is the inability to countenance downside. The facade of greatness and optimism needs to be maintained at all costs. Because of this vulnerability, narcissists surround themselves with those who help maintain the charade. Here's Trump's chief economic advisor, Larry Ludlow, three weeks ago:
Trump's Chief Economic Advisor Larry Kudlow wrote:“We have contained this. I won’t say [it’s] airtight, but it’s pretty close to airtight,” Kudlow told CNBC’s Kelly Evans on “The Exchange.” He added that, while the outbreak is a “human tragedy,” it will likely not be an “economic tragedy.”

They'd actually done nothing to contain it. He was merely spouting confidence trickery of the sort that Trump is addicted to and needs to tell himself day and night, despite reality. You don't want confidence hucksters managing any risk, let alone serious risk like the health, security and economic risk of the superpower.
